Using the Chronosis device located in each biome, the host player summons a friend or is matched with another random online player. The progress of the host determines the available item pool for the duration of the multiplayer session.

Next time you wake at the crash site, look up. You should be able to see a gate towards the Tower of Sisyphus, accessible as long as you’ve unlocked the Icarian Grapnel.(5) In this Tower, prepare for a new kind of challenge. It’s a nearly endless ascending gauntlet with a pure focus on combat, how high you build up your score and progress, exclusive items, Scout logs and as-yet unseen fragments from Selene’s story.
5 The Tower of Sisyphus, House sequences and Challenge Mode are not available in Co-op Mode. Cross-play with players on PlayStation®5 consoles is not supported.

Probably the most AAA-quality roguelike I've played so far, in a good sense. Visual and sound design are top notch. Each biome boss fight is a spectacle. Biome 4 finale is going to be stuck in my head for a long time with how epic it felt, in part thanks to its amazing soundtrack. The story is interesting and definitely not an afterthought, with numerous mysteries that leave some room for your own interpretation. Combat is well designed, leaning heavily towards bullet-hell style. I found it decently challenging, though how much exactly tends to vary a lot depending on biome and especially the random set of upgrades found in each run. This is especially apparent in the first biome early game, which to me felt the hardest, purely because you're running through it with very little upgrades initially. Weapons offer a large variety, with most unlocked over time, each with its own pool of unique traits. Overall highly recommend, just as long as you don’t mind a slightly harder difficu...
Game looked beautiful and roguelite was the bait for me, but I didn't look deep enough to the reviews or the gameplay. It's too difficult for me, frustrating to play when you get too little progression and/or feeling of accomplishment.
The actual gameplay is really fun, but Steam reported 8 hours of play after I finished the game for the first time, which is pretty disappointing for a $60 game. I know it's a roguelike, but in my second runthrough virtually nothing has changed, so there aren't new challenges for me to work on. I was hoping for an increase in difficulty or spawn rate or something, but it's just the same game. Not only is it very short, but 2 of the 6 biomes are reskins, so in terms of original content this game is smaller than even most indie games I've played, and those usually run a third the price. Difficulty options would pad both the novelty value and replayability of this game immensely; it seems pretty strange that they didn't implement those.
Returnal was a blast. Very tough game, but worth it. Took about 30 hours to roll credits.
Saves wiped can not understand how this game could do such a thing I wish I could RETURN it.. I just really cant grasp how saves can wipe on titles like this at all if anyone knows okay but stay away from this game and if you dont turn OFF Cloud saves F this
Beautiful, controls great, challenging but fair, compelling and emotional story. fantastic game. 5 stars. note that the PC port is still less than ideal, but it's worth suffering through its shortcomings.
Great game. Story is very unique. I rly liked every biome and Selene’s progress.
This game was suprisingly fun, much better then expected. Being one of the first and only triple A developed roguelites, it sets the bar pretty high. It takes a while to get going and get used to, but once you get into it it's a great experience. If any complaints, the game is a little short and you unlock weapons a bit slow. Definitely recommended to buy if you can get it at a discount and are into an FPS roguelite with some minor story. IMO it peaked 2/3rds in, the last act felt like a bit of an afterthought to finish. It also didn't really add much new, which was a bit dissapointing. Overall though, a solid 8/10. It's a shame it was a financial flop, cause I would have played a sequel for sure.
Game is amazing; can't wait for the spiritual follow up that was announced. Bullet hell roguelike.
