Probably worthwhile if you're just looking for Xcom style tactical combat, but otherwise the plot, characters, dialog, and motivations were pretty uninspired.

If you loved Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, you’ll feel right at home here. Miasma Chronicles is like its spiritual successor – but with a fresh twist. The puzzles are super fun – door codes keep changing and stay interesting, so you’re always thinking. And yes… I may have guessed a few codes by pure luck and felt like a genius. I looked up two codes on the Internet because I was too lazy to solve them: At the cementry and in the hospital. Graphics? Absolutely awesome. The world looks fantastic, with creative little details everywhere. The music and sound are solid too, and they fit perfectly with the atmosphere. One of my favorite things is the camera – probably one of the best I’ve seen in a game like this. Smooth, cinematic… just great. The only downside is that the load and save buttons feel a bit laggy. Controls on PC are a bit confusing though. Compared to Mutant Year Zero, this one feels trickier to handle, and I really missed having "R" for reload. ...
TL;DR: It is decent. Full playthrough took me about 40h. In this game you lead a small team through the story engaging in a mix of stealth takedonws and turn based tactics. In beginning to mid game you have to engage in stealth game play where you use silent weapons and punches to kill lone enemies and sneak around. In the later half of the game you can blast through finally engaging whole enemy squads. Pros: + looks very good + tactical combat is difficult but doable + story is decent, nothing ground breaking, just decent Cons: - every interaction with terminal has a lot of dumb dialog in it - arena sequence require you to complete 5 fights in a row without any save, if a summon for exampel gets stuck in the last fight you need to start over :( - most miasma powers are not that good, summon explosive barrel dominates the field with 150 damage AoE along with chain zap that stuns bots, other powers almost doesn't matter ( meaning they could be balanced a little bit better ) Pro ti...
I would really love to recommend this game. A great concept for a deep story, wich is not fullfilled. Like the turn based game style, but there is just so many small "must have's" that are missing in the gameplay, wich makes the game experience SOO frustrating. It almost seems like lazy game development, that basic needs to have are mising in the game.
Miasma Chronicles is a richly crafted tactical RPG that combines a compelling post-apocalyptic narrative with deep strategic combat and immersive world-building. Developed by The Bearded Ladies, the game continues the studio’s tradition of blending thought-provoking storytelling with complex gameplay systems, delivering an experience that feels both fresh and familiar to fans of the genre. Set in a world ravaged by a mysterious and deadly miasma, the game places players in control of a diverse group of survivors navigating hostile environments, dangerous enemies, and moral dilemmas that test their resolve and leadership. At the heart of Miasma Chronicles is its tactical turn-based combat, which emphasizes positioning, cover mechanics, and character abilities to create tense and rewarding battles. Each squad member comes with distinct skills, weapons, and traits, encouraging players to experiment with different team compositions and tactics. The game challenges you to think several m...
Wohoo.. amazing game. I am looking forward for the next chapter.
Imagine XCom only you get to sneak up and pick off stray enemies from cover without drawing attention. Are you willing to update your weapons, mods, and skills before every encounter? If so, you'll be fine for at least normal difficulty. Expect ~100 hours of gameplay if you fully explore and finish every quest.
technique issue, the game also poorly handle input : it doesn't received any input (neither keyboard nor controller) again after being idle for a while. i have to manually alt tab and end task the game. any one know the solution please help me.
I'm a big fan of tactical games like XCOM, and the previous game these guys made, Mutant Year Zero, was pure joy and exceeded my expectations. I had this game in my library for some time and wanted to take a few days to play and enjoy it. This game had kind of the same vibe - some post-apocalyptic cyber warfare - and I just loved it. This was darker than the previous game, but I loved it nonetheless. I'm very happy that these guys keep doing their style, and I hope to play their next game.
So far fun... only problem can't zoom enough
