This game *almost* nails VR drumming, with a very well thought out track layout, making ample use of position, direction, and depth for timing notes. However, very lackluster track design, questionable sound selection for the drums, and an over-reliance on "holographic"/"high-tech" visual aesthetic make the experience not stellar. Add to that the music selection being very biased towards anime/Japanese, and going for very short "TV" versions of the songs, means you can never really get into it before the song comes to a screeching halt. TL;DR: Good virtual drums, bad audio experience.

The game looks good from an initial bit of playing. The instruments are neat and the band mechanics are cool. There's an emphasis on adding your own style to performances that then can be saved and used for other players while they play the song on other instruments. There are some things that need to be fixed though. For one, you need to either stand up or sit down really quickly during transitions because that's where the game is going to center your body on load and there is no way to re-position after that till the next loading screen. The menu from the hubworld that you use to enter songs is fixed in a spot in your play area, so if you take any steps forwards or backwards after loading in, you're gonna be stretching. I also can't for the life of me find the game settings menu, I may have missed it in the tutorial, but I'm told it exists somewhere and I want to try the other guitar orientations because it's.. bad. So, game is a bit jank, but everything in VR is. Hopefully Konami ...
It's not very good. Nowhere near the quality you'd expect from Konami (as far as rhythm games are concerned). The controls range from inconsistent to completely broken. I wouldn't expect any major updates either, as this game has been out for a while in Asian markets. There are three styles of play, none of which are particularly great. Surprisingly, the keyboard mode is the worst one of them all. The drum mode is actually pretty fun if you can orient yourself into a comfortable position. If you buy this game, buy it for the drums. There are some extremely tedious mechanics too, such as having to vigorously wave hello to both of your AI bandmates in order to start the song, then interact with them again to end the song. Call me jaded, but I was sick of this before I even figured it out. This game does have some personality though, which counts for a lot in my opinion. I enjoyed playing on a virtual stage much more than I had expected. It's a pretty cool concept that would be a lot o...
Cool idea, but not great for VR It's Rock Band in VR, with a sci-fi anime twist Bugs and Anime aside, I think the game works, but playing physical instruments in virtual space doesn't work well. Drums are good, Piano seems ok (havent tried it yet), but guitar (and therefor, bass) do not play well in open space. Credit to the developers for making it work as best it can, but it's just not a good VR concept, in my opinion. The instrument audio seems to be some free assets, or otherwise not great quality. They work, but they wont have the quality of Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Credit to the devs. It could be a good game, but for me, the air guitar wasn't fun.
It's very close to being a good first attempt at arcade rhythm in vr. everything other than drumming feels a bit unfinished, with the lack of major feedback messing up a lot feel on stuff like the keyboard and guitar. The strumming and some input hitboxes feel really off. The drumming itself suffers from the model having a weird low opacity design that doesnt fit with you know... actually seeing the the set. The songs are short and the list quite small. With some more time and maybe a little more QA this could be a really cool VR game. If it's on sale maybe give it a try still, because it is pretty unique in feel for now.
At first I was like "Alright, I'll play for a while, if I don't like it, I'll get a refund" hours later..... "Why can't I stop playing?"
doesnt work menu doesnt show up for music using a vive headset
I was so excited to see this game on steam since its not available in my oculus store for some reason. I can get the game loaded and i can play the tutorial and a single song but i cant get the actual song menu to appear at all. So, until they fix that I will have to refund this game since its unplayable. I am playing on a rift s. it seems most peoples problems with rift s is that they get a black screen, i dont have that I can definitely see and play the game but only if i want to play the tutorial and 1 other song. I tried everything to get the song menu to open and nothing :( I really wanted to play.
when are they gonna add death grips to this game so i can pretend to be zach hill also since this is a bemani game does this mean we will get beatmania on steam
No. Don't try it. The controls are really wonky and are just plain frustrating
