Absolutely amazing game. Recently discovered it and have struggled to put it down. Has its own unique charm graphically, while having a ton of survival elements reminiscent of other games. Enjoy State of Decay? The looting system in this game is similar but so much better. Also has infestations very similar to the corrupted hearts of SoD. The game feels like zomboid in how you combat zombies. Gotta take it slow, one zombie at a time. Dont be greedy and know your limits. (Im also a nightmare difficulty player lol). Still in early access at the time of me writing this review. So im very excited for what is to come and be made of this game. Solo Dev too so this mans is killing it. Cant wait for co-op as well, that will be a big game changer for my friends and I. Overall awesome game, and definitely worth the price.
A Fantastic game, short and simple. Kudos to the developer for all their efforts to create and build on this cool creation. I have over 120 hours in this game and have had a blast looting and shooting in this well designed little world. Admittedly, that 120 hours has been split up between 4 or 5 different characters and difficulty settings trying to extend the fun and challenge of the game with just some success. (Game customization is a plus for sure) However, IMHO there are a few things that this game still needs to make it a more complete "survival" game. note: My play style is a survival play style so it is from this perspective that I am sharing my thoughts. I typically prefer to play a weaker character with minimal leveling or weapon upgrading and much stronger, faster enemies so that I'm always on edge and in danger. I try to limit loot in these games as well, especially food and medical. Surviving off the land is my thing. That said, these are some things that I hope the de...
Chill and fun game to play, but don't get me wrong the game can be challenging too. worth the money, and I can't wait for the multiplayer update
I try not to be too harsh or overly critical on games like these since I know better than to play them expecting triple A studio level quality but I feel like there are just a couple of issues that I ran into that can't be solved by tweaking the game option sliders: First is human AI - I think it's cool that survivors and bandits can spawn and simulate looting POIs you travel near but in practice it just doesn't really work. Humans will spawn and immediately fire guns attracting every zombie nearby, but they won't attempt to avoid them so every human I encountered ended up getting swarmed and killed by zombies within seconds. It happened to a single survivor on the road, it happened to two survivors near a destroyed church, and it happened to a group of bandits near a mall. I wasn't expecting other survivors to be masters of decision making and tactical movements, but seeing them completely disregard their own self-preservation was a pretty big letdown. The second issue is loot - loo...
I'm addicted to the simplicity of this game, it triggers the same kleptomaniac cycle that can be found in Bethesda games when looting weapons, treasures or even junk.
took me 4 h to get best guns, gear and visit every military base and everything else. got kinda boring after that, didnt know what to do then. also dont understand why its a solo game.
it's been early access for three years, and it's still in an unfinished state. it's a cool project, but not worth 12 bucks
The idea is there, the game is interesting, but at the moment the state is a very very very raw early stage of the game. Bugs apart, there are a tons of things that are missing, starting from the shallow state of the crafting mechanics, the quests (?!?) and the map that is not finished. Also when you save and then later reload, sometimes you find yourself in a different location. Bugs and glitches are everywhere, a little too many to be honest even for an Early Access. At this state I suggest to wait and see, the idea is there.
fun, interesting concept. tons of potential. right now, its WAY to easy. you get weapons/necessities too frequently and with little to no challenge. this is the main reason i gave a negative review - acquiring stuff (and growing as a result) is the bread and butter of a survival game. if its just handed to you, whats the point?
