Alright. Forever Skies is a game that, despite having everything it needs to be a fun co-op survival game set in a world destroyed by pollution, is in practice kind of boring and uninspired. Or at least, it doesn't inspire my friend and I to continue playing it. Which is a strange place to find myself, as like I say, it technically has a lot of the bells and whistles that should make this game fun. But in reality, when I think about playing it again, I just find myself wanting to play anything but this. I will also say that while the devs have been incredibly active, I just don't see myself wanting to fire up the game again to find out what changes may or may not be made to the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3476146855 I think one of the main issues we had in our playthrough is that the pacing is very slow. Everything is parsed out at somewhat of a snail's pace. Another issue is that the things that should present a challenge, such as creatures ra...

User Reviews
To be honest, game had quite a lot of potential but it's not used at all. Main downsides are: - A lot of reused assets/locations, which just break immersion. - Game just does not feel optimized (5950X/3080) since no matter what settings I use, I get about 50 FPS. - Due to the current optimization of the game, you can feel motion sickness when playing. If you suffer from it like I do, don't buy the game at this point. - No clue about the story, no emphasize on it anywhere. Gathering items, exploring places already feels repetitive after an hour, maybe two. At this point, I would not recommend this game.
I'm not really sure why people are dogging on this game so bad. It's honestly on about the same par as Raft, which I thought was a great way to spend time. Planet Crafter was a little more in depth, but this does not claim to be an automation game. For basic survival craft, I think this checks a lot of boxes. It's a really cool concept. Expanding and customizing your blimp is *really* fun and satisfying. It looks pretty great for an indie game of this scale. and even though the story is actually pretty short, with all the building and collecting it's easily a 30+ hour game which is exactly the length i expect at the very least from a campaign in a game like this. I think if the price looks affordable, you should definitely play it. However I do have some complaints. it suffers from the same thing the entire genre suffers from: by the time you unlock the coolest things you dream about getting the whole game, there isn't much game left to enjoy them. This is a problem i am not sure how...
If you enjoy the idea of Raft and Subnautica, I suggest trying the game out. My review is based on playing the game in single player. It does not reflect co-op. I started this game back when it first came out in Early access. Recently I picked the game up again to give it another go. As with most survival games, there are gauges to monitor your food, water, and energy. Playing on the default settings, I believe I found myself having to refill my gauge once every 30-60 minutes? Which is honestly pretty easy compared to some games out there. Next, if you're not shy of reading, the story-line is interesting. I won't go into details as to not spoil it. General progression - As terms of progression, I honestly believe you progress as fast as you want. If you sit idle and crawl from quest-to-quest, you'll probably progress a bit slower in terms of building your ship and unlocking technology. But if you don't mind exploring the side locations, you'll progress rather quickly in terms of ...
DO NOT GET THIS GAME!!! Co-op is broken. cant join peoples games, cant have them join mine, cant even see public games in progress. Can't fix it either. I tried multiple websites and everyone is saying the same thing as this. If you want to play by yourself good luck as it still crashes on its own. I got it for the multiplayer aspect with my friends and its been bugged as far back as January with no fixes as far as i can tell.
This game was actually better in early access. Once the ending questline was added, things really got messy. You're not told in advance what resources you're needed to complete final objectives. This has you running back and forth between zones (that you've already visited) simply to farm resources. To make matters worse, zones reset when you leave (even the final quest zone), so you lose all resources you've spent progressing through that zone. The sandbox portion of the game was a lot of fun. Building an airship, progressing through the story and researching new technologies was fun. However the final 5-10 hours was absolutely infuriating, and in fact I finally had enough and ragequit before the ending. I don't need this kind of frustration in my life.
Don't buy this game bro, trust me. My ship is my home and my base, and I build my life on it. BUT WHEN THE SHIP MOVES MY FPS DROPS TO SHIT. Not running a potato pc here. There's potential, its fun to play with friends, but the game basically is a SP potato.
This game is raft but in a balloon. It forces linearity and you are constantly required to find upgrades to grind for by shooting a laser. Every platform is the same and the combat involves swiping things once with a knife.
Fantastic survival craft experience! Enjoyed every minute and couldn't get enough. I only wish the story was longer, but the devs are awesome and cooking up even more great content for this game. I'll be logging back in for the next update for sure. Ran perfectly on my machine with maxed settings from start to finish.
fun game, like raft and subnatica combined
