interface poor, hit detection weirdly sloppy, "ghost taps" carries inexplicable phantom accuracy penalty but has no tangible impact on the scoring (I think? i didn't look into this too deeply but if this is true it's existence is totally pointless). overall largely doesn't justify its existence as a game worth looking into for 4k enthusiasts, being a poor man's DJMax, EZ2On or hell even Musynx. also for some reason all of the online leaderboard functionality is tied to a bespoke account system? you're on Steam, bro, use Steamworks. it's right there. what are you doing. this is perhaps the pettiest review I've ever written but this game is in fact, dreadful.

Rhythium has received a lot of love over its time in early access and delivers all that it promises. Let the enjoyable aesthetic and catchy songs grasp you as the game takes you on a roller coaster of challenging, rewarding and satisfying gameplay. With support for custom songs, global leaderboards, seasonal challenges, and achievements, you will be drawn in for hours. Everything you could want from a rhythm game for a sweet price.
Ghost taps are a horrible idea. Also... the lack of judgement on note taps is as well. I realize the store page says: 'sick of playing a rhythm game and missing out on a perfect score because of that one inaccurate note?' Well, that apparently means it's either hit or miss. But... I'd rather still hit a note at a 'too early' or '90%'rating than not at all though, so I really don't see how this is better? It just feels bad. The noise when you miss a note is also really jarring and pulls me out of my concentration entirely. The game was released almost a year ago by now with 18 songs and still only has 18 songs. I get you can also upload custom maps from osu! but... to play those there IS osu! itself which also feels less janky than this game.
Pros: - Good songs - Nice-looking skins - Fun gameplay you'd come to expect from most 4K VSRGs Cons: - Ghost tapping negatively affecting score/accuracy, even when no notes are displayed on screen - Having external accounts for the game's leaderboards - (PERSONAL OPINION) No real countdown for when the game loads into a song - (PERSONAL OPINION) The charting for many of the songs have a similar style of being jump-heavy, making many of the charts feel/play the same Overall, it was worth my $3.99, but there are some things that I believe are holding it back from being something like osu!mania where I could spend hours and hours playing to improve.
I like the game I like the songs The developers must've put a lot if time an effort into making this game Is it worth my 4 dollars? :Yes Does it have the Rhythm? :Oh definitely it has Does it have the Over the top Slime? :Probably not :/ Does it have the Sauce? :OOOHH BABY YEA it does
Fun.
Even though I am not great at rhythm games I had heaps of fun
