About This Game

Build the best ecosystem in Bird's Eye — a singleplayer engine-building card game.

A relaxing and family-friendly experience

Influence your opponents indirectly

While the game has no direct ways to harm your opponent, you can play a card in their ecosystem, as well as yours. Thwart their plans, while risking giving them a edge.

A chance to learn

Bird's Eye was built to be more than just a fun game, but an educational experience as well. The game mechanics are designed to closely resemble a self-regulating ecosystem, so the player can learn general ecological concepts in a fun and engaging way. The game has also features an encyclopedia where you can learn about the cards (as well as unlock new ones).

Modding support

Bird's Eye was built from the ground up to be as modding-friendly as possible. It's easy to create, share and use community-created cards and game modes with built-in tools and mod manager. Combine different card packs. Pick and choose different parts of the mods you install. Tailor the game experience just to you.

My Experience It's admittedly been a minute since I tried Bird's Eye, but I've been trying to catch up on reviews for the games I played this year. I played through the tutorial multiple times before fully comprehending what was going on. However, once I got a handle on the game, it still wasn't what I'd call fun. I remember trying to increase the number of "producers" I had (the green leaf resource), but I tended to pull pathetic random numbers here while my computer opponent's pulls were more substantial. I looked at the potential cards I could unlock to see if any of them would markedly change the way that I built my ecosystem, but they mostly just had different numbers in the corners. I have a soft spot for card games, but for 2021 I'd recommend potential players to try Demon Cycle, Deck Adventurers - Origins, The Amazing American Circus, Hunted: Kobayashi Tower, or even Roman Wars: Deck Building Game.
