About This Game

PLAY YOUR WAY

Charge in sword in hand? Sneak past in a barrel? Dig a tunnel around the problem? Or maybe fire a magic beam and destroy everything in that approximate direction? If it works, it's not stupid!

BRING FRIENDS

Play online with up to 4 players! Build bridges and share healing potions... or grab your friends and toss them at your enemies as a distraction. I did not suggest that latter one, you came up with it yourself.

GEAR UP

Grab weapons off of your fallen enemies, or jump past traps guarding a treasure chest: There's plenty of weapons, spells, potions and crabs for you to find. Use any nice stuff you don't care for to add bonuses to the stuff you do care for through infusing! ...Or give them to your friends. They might develop opinions if you keep infusing all the good loot into your fancy bow.

LEVEL UP

Find and pull out those glowing Nails to level up and get some skillcards! Gain upgrades for the rest of the run, ranging from simple stat increases to good stuff like extra-potent explosives with Special Powder, excessive arcane power with Cosmic Will and the ability to dunk everyone you can get your hands on with Piledriver!

DIE, PROBABLY

Turns out saving all worlds is somewhat difficult. Don't worry! Thyme believes in you! And Architect is... I mean, more of a realist, but still vaguely optimistic!

(George does not believe in you.)

GateDelvers is simply a fun Roguelike. I played the Demo and I am excited to see what else this game has to offer. JUST in the demo I was able to experience some great game design. - There are secrets hidden throughout the game. Exploring is very rewarding. - Lots of cool and quirky ways you can battle your way through the game. Some games feel like they are trying to prevent you from "Cheesing" past enemies or finding your own path. No invisible walls or skip-protection here, If you get lucky and with some skill you can do pretty much anything you want. - The longer you play you unlock more classes and cards; this can drastically change how you play the game. I usually only play Multiplayer games, and thankfully GameDelvers offers hilariously fun Multiplayer. It feels fair but also chaotic. There are some hilarious things that can happen when you start throwing more people into the mix, especially since your friends can sometimes become a hindrance instead of being helpful. I on...

Top-down Spelunky, but also good. Now, before I say too much, there's a generous demo, use it! What strikes you as weird about GateDelvers at first are the controls, left-click let's you use stuff, right-click let's you throw stuff. This leads to some weird scenarios that you can either use a shield or a sword, but not both simultanously. Using the sword is, well selecting the sword and the left-clicking and using the shield is selecting the shield and then left-clicking. And while that seems akward at first, the throwing of things is really a central game mechanic, so the controls suit the game, but it might not what you expect at first. The game itself feels very much like Spelunky, except from the top down, which also makes it a bit nicer. The attractive part of Spelunky is that you always see a situation and consider the risk you are taking... is it worth the reward? Can the situation spiral out of hand? And the same compelling feeling is true for GateDelvers. However, I would ra...

Surprisingly really solid! Played 2-3 hours straight without even realizing it. I'm not even a fan of these games normally, but- I SWEAR I'MA GREED AND NOT USE ALL MY STUFF AND STILL GET TO THE END THIS TIME! *ahem* Really fun, especially when it feels like you get items and abilities that "break" the game! Wish I could get those same amazing combos again and not die this time cuz I don't wanna use my ammo or consumables...

Disclaimer: I helped do some playtesting for this game. Fun game with lots of chaotic/fun situations. Interesting perks and item-modifications. Games go very quickly between: "Hmm lets add the passive of this item to this other item which together with my perk creates a homing rocket launcher which can use mana to reload" to "RUN DODGE RUN SPIKE PIT TNT BARREL RUN DODGE THROW ROCK HIT TNT EXPLOSION DEATH"

I seldom review games, but I feel like this one has flown under the radar of most people, and it's very unfortunate. This has easily become one of my favourite roguelite games, especially for its party aspect which so few roguelites have. It's got incredible potential and so far the patches have been coming out at a very good pace, so I certainly look forward to what's in store. It's the perfect title for them to release good content DLCs after it leaves Early Access. The physics-based gameplay, the platforming and puzzle-like approach and the large variety of ways that a player can tackle the challenges make it very unique.

This is definetly a hidden gem! Id recommend playing this with friend but playing it solo is fun aswell this dungeon runner feels like a 3D spelunky with a level up system and classes and with classes i dont mean starting class (or maybe with what kind of cards and character you choose) but most of the class "choosing" comes up to what perks and items you use in the dungeon (id say theres 4 classes being warrior, archer/gunslinger, bomber and mage) but if you dont want to you dont have to pick any class and just hoard everything you find, both in your inventory and in your own pocket dimension which you can enter alteast what i think is whenever you want, even mid fight though i dont recommend it (it leaves you vulnerable while channeling) some more things i love about this game is 1. that almost everything is throwable, friends, weapons, potions, bombs etc 2. the movement, its simple yet challenging (i really like how running was implemented) 3. spells books (the first one i got...

Played solo for my first 2.4 hrs and loved it. Some features feel a little clunky, but in a very charming and intentional way. Looking forward to full release, as there is currently not too much content. Try the demo to see if it's for you!

It's sort of like Spelunky with sooome Streets of Rogue elements: there a lot of mechanics interacting with each other and they snowball off of each other. You will die, a LOT. My first run I probably only lasted just over ten seconds. There is a bit of a learning curve and mistakes are PUNISHING. You eventually start to learn what you can and can't face based on your equipment, but there a ways to get around either a seemingly impassable pit, or that boss that will end your run right there. Rogue-likes are a dime-a-dozen these days, but what sets this one apart for me are a few key things:

The systems at play: I really enjoy the skill system which involves essentially a level up which gives a new skill from one of three decks you equip, each centered around a traditional stat (red is strength and HP, blue is magic, green is mobility and ranged, yellow deals with tools and certain utilities). Each deck also provides a passive to your character when equipped. The devs...

This game is an absolute hidden gem and I am very excited for its future. The game goes from legitimate strategy to absolute chaos in less than a second. I would recommend this game for anyone who enjoys roguelike gameplay with multiple solutions to problems encountered within. Weapons are a suggestion rather than a forced gameplay mechanic, and I really enjoy that.
