Really fun game. Reminds me of the old flash game era of the internet where you could find gems like this. It's an absolute passion project and the developer is really nice and appreciates community feedback. Big recommendation!
played through 2 bosses so far, quite challenging boss fights which i really appreciate, great experience
I really like the game progression, you keep learning from your mistakes but not in an annoying way. The overall experience is pretty fun and solid!
digging it so far, it’s fun once you get a controller set up… manually (insert eyes rolling into the back of my head) hopefully this will be something that all devs start doing for games that don’t need 10K buttons, because it gets annoying to have to do this on games that are action based. The only bad thing about the game is that enemies pop up in front of your face sometimes like the very start of the second level, so a little polish here and there would be great.
I've not beat the game yet but I think I've played enough to be able to give some opinions. I believe there are one or two more bosses left. I am not greatly skilled gamer so I've been playing on the lowest difficulty to get my feet wet. Things I like: * It has has been the appropriate amount of challenging for me. * The controls are snappy and responsive. * The bosses have a good variety of mechanics. * Overall aesthetic. * The power-ups have quite the range of different effects and I suspect in more skilled hands they would be more finely-tuned for situational use. Things that could use a little bit of improvement: * some minor complaints about the UI - gets a little bit cluttered once you've bought everything - it's not obvious to me which firing pattern I've currently selected * the quad fireball might be just a bit overtuned (at least on easy difficulty) Given how new the game is, these are such minor things, they barely even register as problems for me. The UI items I mentione...
Pros: -Gameplay and combat is solid. Feels great to play. Upgrading your skills is satisfying, as is filling up the hit bar and going super saiyan. -The music and pixel art are nice. -Story/atmosphere looks cool so far. Cons: -Parts of the art (mainly menus and UI) could use some polish. Too many solid colour rectangles. Overall quite good. For £5 it's 100% worth.
Great game! No reason not to get this game. Fun on the steam deck!
A cool game for players who like hardcore roguelikes!
Solid game. Movement feels great. Developer is also super nice and quick to fix issues (added 4k support soon after I mentioned it in the Discord). The shooting pattern concept is super cool and fairly well-executed, though I wish it was a bit more obvious which pattern was in use. I wish the game had proper controller support, but the developer is not interested in adding it because Godot doesn't support steam input very well, which is understandable. If you're on deck, there's a pretty solid pre-made controller configuration, but on desktop, especially with more than one monitor, you'll need to do some manual configuration.
