About This Game

Explore the world, find Crystals, and fulfill the prophecy to bring balance to the land of Sequoia.

...Or maybe you'd rather spend your time collecting neat equipment and artifacts? Or tame strange creatures and fill out all the entries in your archive? Or perhaps you'd rather hunt down every monster and conquer the world's toughest bosses. Or maybe you'd rather travel to the farthest reaches of the land and uncover the world's greatest mysteries.

The choice is yours, as it should be! Or is it? They say that those who stray out of line will be punished, killed, or worse. Maybe it's for your own good that you stick to collecting Crystals, just like everyone else. But where would the adventure be in that?

  • No random encounters!
  • Manage Threat to control which party member a monster will attack.
  • No hidden information. Preview turn order, damage, and probabilities like in TRPGs.

  • Discover and unlock new classes.
  • Assign sub-classes, pick passive abilities, and equip all kinds of special items.
  • Invent unique team compositions, or stick to the MMORPG Holy Trinity.

  • No permanent missables!
  • Seamless transitions between zones with no loading screens anywhere.
  • Uncover the mysteries of the world all on your own.

  • Metroidvania-style progression.
  • No invisible walls! Try to jump and climb anywhere you want.
  • Overcome platforming challenges to discover neat loot... and other stuff.

It's just fun. If you want a game with lots of freedom and deep combat that feels like the fever dream of a FF3/FF5 fan, then this is a game I think you'll love. If you want a deep story...it doesn't really have that, but there's a little something here that pops up from time to time. Really this game is about the exploration, the fights, tinkering with your party's builds, and even some solid laughs. Sometimes a game just clicks for you, and for me this is one of those games. Plus it's super inexpensive and has mod support! It's great!

What an absolute journey, this game really embodies the essence of adventures. With an expansive world to explore and plenty treasure chests rewarding the curious. Not to mention the many wonderful songs playing as you go (if i could, I'd buy it to listen to). The combat offers a deceptively interesting system, with a handful of classes to play around with. This game offers a challenge, a journey and a story you make yourself - since there really isn't a deep one other than the overall theme. I can highly recommend this to any rpg lovers

I think the game i extremely solid but I do have a number of caveats First, the combat is excellent. I feel like the rate at which you get new abilities, items and classes keeps things super fresh for most of the game. I recommend mastering as many classes as possible rather than trying to keep an optimal party all the time. There is a system where the levels you get in a class influence your characters stats, but you can respec that at any time (kind of makes me wonder why its a thing in the first place and they don't just let you choose what stats to level but this isn't really a problem). I guess my only other problem with the combat would be that some of the late game classes are pretty redundant like dervish or valkyrie, but thats a bit of a nitpick and probably adds variety in randomized runs. Aside from great combat though, there's a few points of friction for me. I think the open world is mostly a missed opportunity. For most of the game its pretty cool climbing stuff where yo...
