The Village

This game is challenging, you really have to grind out puzzle completion and enemies. Despite that, I had a good time playing. The story is pretty sad, and the MUSIC - my god the music was lovely. Good story and tons of quests/side quests, I could see this game taking way longer for perfection. I do wish there were achievements!

If you are a fan of retro RPGs with SNES-PS1-era graphics,this game is a must play. The gameplay is challenging but rewarding, with clever puzzles and tough enemies. The story is surprising deep, and the music perfectly sets the tone for every moment. It feels like an old Zelda title but with its own identity. A fantastic tribute to classic gaming.

It's a old school 2D RPG, it's reminds me of some SNES/PS1 game. Good graphics, gameplay & maps, also super low system requirements. I recommend it!

its a pretty fun game with excellent story telling and good music. It keeps you engaged due to story it offers and combat experience is also pretty good. Figuring different characters for different tasks is challenging but fun. Overall a pretty fun game. 100% recommended

I do enjoy the occasional JRPG from time to time, and this one came recommended to me from a coworker. So when I saw it was on sale for $3 I thought, "why not?". I was hooked from the start. Just about every element immersed me in the world of The Village. The time I've invested into the game at just about 20 hours, one playthrough on normal was perfectly fine for me. I was in this for the atmosphere - the absolutely wonderful atmosphere ! Did I enjoy my time? Absolutely! What a ride. :)

The Village has all the characteristics that a good old school RPG should have: very nice et poetic graphisms and beautiful soundtrack, solid gameplay, a good story and a reasonable difficulty. Highly recommended !

The art direction is beautiful. On the other hand the difficulty is not well proportioned... The mazes are very hard, the shadows are too strong compared to the number of life points, the objects are too well hidden. And the game does not give much information about what to do. (I don't see any solution on internet...) Nevertheless I recommend the game for the atmosphere !

The game is really beautiful: the maps, the music and the texts. On the other hand, we are a bit lost in the main story. And the dark areas are very very difficult.
