The Brew Barons

This game has all the ingredients of a brew I'd love, but it was ultimately a let down. Playing on a controller sucks. You can't invert the sticks and sometimes menus, especially in the HQ/Brewery/Bar, are either harder to use or downright don't work and require switching to using my mouse to navigate.

Do I recommend this game: Cautiously yes! Now, you see the game is insanely flavourful. If you looking for a game that gives you that porco rosso/ghibli vibe or Tale Spin vibe, this is it. I don't think there is any game other that even tries to achieve something like this. Also the core gameplay loop is while a simple collecting things to craft, but doing it while you flying around is almost endlessly fun. The way they implemented the enemies(pirates) are also really clever and fun tbh. There are different types of boss pirates, like ship, submarine, plane and each has multiple different characters. So when you fight a pirate ship or plane, you not just fight a pirate ship, but like a specific character, they are very simple, but it adds so much flavour to the game. Also different type of pirate enemies has different weakspots and almost like minigames to defeat them, again this sound fun on paper, sadly in practice, it falls shorth. Man had a lot of fun with this game it needs a sequel or an expansion

For two people and a composer, this was a very ambitous game, and it just barely managed to come out good. content doesnt exactly run out, but its much less fun the longer the game goes on i feel like if you want it to feel like an rpg, you should feel like youre actually doing something against the pirates. defeating them only for them to show up right away with no consequences made the fights feel cheap also, shame the most fun type of fight, plane against plane, basicly dissappears later in the game but for the low price and for a quality setting, id say its well worth it. if they make a second game they certeinly have ways to improve
