Adventures of The Carrot Captain

TL;DR: Not perfect, but perfectly invokes the "just one more try" that makes it hard to stop playing. Well worth the money! In many ways, CC is not perfect, but thus far it has been fun! The controls felt a bit floaty at start, but after getting used to them, they are just fine. The graphics and music are superb, and the story is quirky and tongue-in-cheek (many puns - tho a lot of missed opportunities on the punny side). Thus far what's been drawing me in is the fast restart and bite-sized levels. I don't know about you, but I failed a lot starting from the second world, and it was a godsent that you can skip the death animation and just restart. The levels don't feel unfair, and stands upon the old "muscle memory" stand. The game definitely scratches that "just one more try" itch, and it absolutely NAILS it.

This platformer brings back alot of nostalgia! you can tell that the developer spent many of days playing classics like sonic the hedgehog / Mario / Vector man the list can go on and on! The art style is awesome specially if you love the bit art. Voice overs are hilarious and whimsical and the gameplay is challenging and addicting. personally a breath of fresh air considering the lackluster games that usually come out in this genera! 10/10 would recommend especially at this pricepoint! its a no brainer

I've been playing this for hours now and it's really good even if I'm really not. The humor is good, the pixel art is sharp and quirky, and the controls feel responsive. I can tell this was made for platformers who are better than me, probably speedrunners, but even I've managed to bumble my way into fun. Awesome job. 10/10 would recommend to platformer players.

If you're looking for a genuinely good game that's fun and has great art, look no further! Its challenging and at times ive questioned my own ability. Is the game hard? Am I terrible at video games? the answer? A bit of both. Some may call me crazy but i vow to beat all 50 levels of dantes hell if its the last thing I do! Im only on level 3.. wish me luck!

Absolute gem of a game! Platform games aren't a game that I usually play but I am thoroughly enjoying playing. Charming pixel graphics, fantastic humor and such a fun theme/story makes this such a pleasure to play! I highly recommend this for anyone that is interested! Made by such a fantastic developer I can't wait to see what WhiteVault Studio puts out next!

This is quite a fun platformer. The levels clearly have a "standard" play path, but there are opportunities for creative paths. Could see this being a fun one to speedrun. Really enjoy the pixel art. The bright colors with the lighthearted interactions play well into the Saturday morning cartoon feel.

Finally got a chance to review after completing the game. The game is awesome with some real challenges! And now I know I have more endings to get! Graphics are great, love the style! Controls really start to flow once you get the idea. Lots of stuff to do! Dev seems to be actively working on the game too constantly improving it. Good buy and good game. Thanks for the fun!

quirky platformer with sugary art, challenging levels and a lot of heart. i have heard the developer is also very handsome but he wont text me back. 10/10 worth $18 ez

Looks really good, is so much fun and not pricey either.

The adventure of the Carrot Captain is an oldschool platformer game. your character can attack and throw his sword but combat is not really the focus here outside of the boss fight. the jumping require you to fall off a ledge in order to jump mid-air , outside of some specific situations like jumping off a sticky wall the game doesn't have a traditional double jump. You also have access to a rolling move that give you an invicibility frame. the boss are not super hard but can be tricky to figure out , the overall difficulty is a challenge but overall it's still feel fair. the controls respond also very well , the visuals are fine and the soundtrack fit the game mood. it doesn't re-recreate the wheel but still feel like a competent platformer that is worth trying out. there is a spare or kill for the boss , the story is interesting but I doubt that most peoples will replay this mutliple times despite the multiple endings proposal.
