Mellow, slice-of-life in tropical island settings. Crafting not arduous. Farming can be frustrating with some things that are not "perennials" (i.e., require planting new seeds after each harvest). Most frustrating farming thing is that, after harvesting a non-perennial, it too easily lets you accidentally replant a random seed you happen to be carrying (not the one you intended). And, if that seed *is* a perennial then you can never remove it from that planter. Be careful what seeds you are carrying. (E.g., seeds you might have just harvested as a side effect from a prior planter.) Second most frustrating farming thing is that once a perennial is growing in a planter you can never remove it, which means you can never move or destroy the planter! Be careful where you place planters!!!

About This Game
The town of Critter Cove used to attract visitors from all over the world. Now it’s mostly known for dirty streets and trash-strewn beaches. Can you help us turn things around?
Critter Cove is a combination life sim and town builder game with a beautiful, handcrafted open world to explore.

Spend your doubloons to upgrade buildings and explore the world to discover new blueprints and gather resources to grow your town. More upgrades will improve Critter Cove’s tourist rating. The greater your tourist rating, the more new tourists will visit. The more new tourists, the more money in your pockets to upgrade the town. Get it? Yep, you totally get it.

Venture out into the mysterious tropical archipelago peppered with the ruins of a long-destroyed civilization. Dive beneath the waves to salvage the treasures of the old world. Rescue shipwrecked critters. Unearth exotic ingredients. It’s a wondrous world of mysterious ruins, shipwrecks and ancient technology waiting to be discovered.

As you explore, you’ll find resources to craft hundreds of different items, discover new construction blueprints and bring home unique plants to grow on your farm. Turn mundane salvage into something new and unique, and improve your tourism rating by offering your freshly grown food to visitors.

Use tourist money and salvaged items to restore rundown buildings and open up entirely new stores and venues for tourists and townsfolk. Craft decorations and interactive objects that will improve the town and make it uniquely yours. You can even decorate your very own home with hand-crafted (or hand-looted) furniture!

You’ll need help to restore the town, and luckily the world of Critter Cove is filled with many colorful characters. Some are easy-going and friendly… others might need some convincing! Rescue Critters across the world, assist them in building a home and help them find the perfect job in your community. Their happiness is the key to your success.

Embark on quests to find hidden treasures or ancient relics scattered throughout the world. Donate these artifacts to the Museum of Mystery to uncover the secrets of the long, long ago - and then charge tourists a small fee to the museum so they can absorb some local culture!

Create your perfect island persona with our robust customization system. Human or animal? Mammal or reptile? The head of a parrot and the tail of a monkey? It’s entirely up to you! Mix and match your physical attributes to your heart's content and discover that perfect tropical drip with hundreds of outfit combinations to craft and discover.

I paid the full $25 USD for the game and I really enjoy it. I think this game is worth the money, and with some minor bug fixing and a little time to polish things off, could easily be worth $40 USD. Gameplay: I love the gameplay, it gives me a some what animal crossing vibes with a nice Immersive 3D Atmosphere. The Characters are well animated, the content is entertaining, and the game is great if you are looking for a fun game to play solo. Graphics: Depending on your preferece, the graphics and system requirements can vary. If you cannot do higher graphics and your device is a potato, then you can put on fairly budget graphics. If you have the higher-end device and want to spice things up, then you can Crank up your graphics and enjoy Beautiful Toon-Style Graphics with Terrific Textures, Supreme shadows, and an amazing ocean. Character Customization: The character design menu is extensive. You can make almost any type of character imaginable. from your average Human, to a robot ...
There is no way to invert the X-axis camera control, and thus, I cannot recommend this game. This review will stay negative until the issue is dealt with.
Love the game... lots of fun... but you get busy fast and there is never enough time in the day to finish everything you need to do. A few hint I learned from the community, a developer comment and playing the game. 1. READ the tasks in your journal.. 2. If you seem to be stuck in progression you missed a task. 3. Almost everything respawns after a lightning storm. ( in all locations) 4. Plan to have a big garden... ( and find someone to work it for you.) 5. Tech advancment is through finding "paintings" hidden across a large map. caves, mountains.. ect 6. You can NEVER have enough ...wood...metal.. resin (especially resin..) chop logs for resin early in the game.. youll need it later... trust me.. 7. Have fun.... its not about doing things its about doing what you enjoy.. (diving is, for me fun) 8. Talk to everyone.. 9. Don't sell white shell's until.... nope no spoilers here.. 10. You need money to upgrade your "boat" ...so chose wisely what you spend on.... 11. Chos...
Now this is a cozy island game that I can get down with genuinely a nice game where you build up an island town bit by bit making it feel like your home. Also I do like that I can pick my home instead of build it an then decorate it how I like. I really like how you dive to salvage under water wrecks for building supplies and food items. the only thing i wish i could do is customize the out side of my house with paint or different windows unless I'm just not there yet lol
I love this game and even in early access there is a ton to do!
fun
??? i started yesterday. I have 10 hours. This is dangerously addicting, like it got all the stuff i like from animal crossing + no real life time constrain + extremely cool exploration. I'm hooked ! Just hm... i may have spent more time than expected on the character creator, it got so many fun options that it was genuinly hard to choose.
I am having a lot of fun with this one. It is a very relaxed, cute game with imaginative characters. There is no pressure and yet, enough to do and much to explore. The character creation alone is worth it, there are so many possibilities and it is very inclusive too. Of course, it is still early access, so a few inconveniences remain. No multiplayer (yet, hopefully) and some things could be explained a little better. But nothing major, all the things that make it a great game are there and they work well. An easy recommendation, forsooth.
Critter cove is absolutely incredible. For reference this is essentially Furry My time at sand rock. The apocalypse has happened and you've been sent to this island in disrepair and it's up to you to help the mayor of this island. You'll start of with one of the most customisable characters I've ever seen in a game it's no Baldurs Gate 3 but the amount you can work with is incredible you're spoilt for choice. Once arriving you meet the mayor who helps you get a deed and it's up to you to select where you want to live. And from here it's your job to get to work, you'll meet a robot who will help you get the shop running and you My time fans will feel right at home. Now where this game separates itself is definitely in the exploration because for Stardew it was caves but here you'll be making a boat and using it to explore dozens of islands and with the new update theirs even more to see and do. At each stop you can dive under and find rare resources, engines and even parts to upgr...
