This feels like expansion pack of United Assault 1944 for me. Strongly recommended for single-player based players or WWII fans. Reasonably priced and much better than stressful hack-flooding multiplayer based FPS titles. Reminds me good old days' CoDUO or MoHAA. You'll like the accurate weapon modelings and decent snowy winter map. Yet little bit buggy as it is now in early-access stage, but still worth playing it. ;) Strongly recommended. 9/10

The game is similar to it's predecessor United Assault - Normandy '44, but this time the theatre of war is the battle of the bulge. It's a small sandbox open world. You always get random tasks when starting a game, like liberating a town or blowing up a tank for example. The towns are all surrounded by woods. Pair that with a snow storm and lots of enemies and it can be an intense firefight. (The AI needs improvement) You can traverse the map either by foot or by stealing a car from towns or a POW-Camp. (I hope for different cars, or even a half track, so far its just the same car model you can steal) United Assault - Battle of the Bulge has already more weapons than it's predecessor and more will be added according to the dev during the EA-phase. You unlock weapons by reaching certain ranks.
Number in the brackets is the level you unlock the weapon (Knife [0], Stielhandgranate [0], M1911 [0], Grease Gun [2], Bren [4], Welrod [6], M1 Carbine [8], S...

the gameplay is fun, but everything runs consistently at 30 fps, the ai is about as smart as a pigeon shitting on a car battery and the fact that you spend half your time walking everywhere makes it boring as hell. The game has potential but right now it's just not worth the 8 bucks

'Broadsword calling Danny Boy...' Excellent sandbox, never the same game twice, and the freedom to play as you wish. The moody winter weather puts me in a 'Where Eagles Dare' state of mind.

Game is not optimized whatsoever. This wouldn't be a problem, if there wasn't ZERO actual system requirements listed. For a game that doesn't look too demanding, even on low the game decides to lag and crashes often. Not sure how they got away with putting literally no requirements for the game, but I guess it should have been a sign.
Extremely barebones
Yeah, as the title states, I am unsure why so many people recommend this title. The game is incredibly easy - and according to some, was incredibly hard before. Nazis will see you from a hundred miles away, sure, but they also do not maintain any realistic standard of behaviour. Some will go to where you are, which is an easy kill because you can hide behind any given wall and one-shot them with your knife, and others will simply resume patrolling. Your first "drop" starts you with an M1911 but given that I dropped right on the outskirts of Foy, I had an MP-44 within seconds. The enemies do very little damage, and they drop health kits like crazy. With just a little bit of patience, and I mean very little, I was easily walking around them and mopping up dudes with potshots from a distance. The objectives are rather obvious, but this is mostly due to the incredibly flat landscape. I encountered a V2 facility and put some dynamite on it, but to my su...

I've been looking for an FPS rogue lite with call of duty-esque gunplay for awhile, and this scratches that itch. You're basically a lone wolf (there is an option for an NPC teammate, but I haven't used it) that has to complete certain randomized objectives when you're dropped into the map, and then you exfiltrate. The gunplay is honestly pretty clean, and the difficulty is good (and there are other difficulty levels to choose from). It does have issues like occasional frame drops and a map that's honestly a tad too big, but I expect things to be ironed out, considering that it's still in early access. There's also a level up system that awards you a new weapon every 2 level, which is a great incentive to keep playing. Overall, I recommend this game, just be aware that it is on early access and therefore has some issues.

EDIT 16.06.22 The AI was balanced and now is not impossible to fight against. There are some other improvements and a friendly AI update that makes the game more fun to play. I'd say at this state of the game, give it a chance! As a game developer myself, I'd like to state that the idea, design and implementation of this game is brilliant. It is almost perfect. I love to play the game and try accomplishing the missions. However, the flaws make it unbearable and I recommend change. First of all, the player should have at least one primary weapon to start with. Be it a Thompson SMG, Garand or Springfield rifle. Just something except the pistol. What makes the game so unbearable is the AI. A Wermach troop will see you across 200 meters and land 30 out of 30 shots on their STG44 on full auto. This renders the game almost unplayable. AI detection is fine, but should they really be so precise? If this fact is changed (should I rather say, fixed) I am willing to turn this review to positiv...
