Master of Magic is a game that wears its legacy with pride. Originally released in 1994 and revamped in a modern reimagining by Slitherine and MuHa Games, this 4X strategy title blends classic turn-based empire-building with deep tactical combat and a heavy dose of fantasy. While it remains faithful to the spirit and mechanics of the original game, the updated version smooths out many of the older rough edges, delivering a richly layered experience that appeals both to long-time fans and curious newcomers who enjoy games like Civilization, Age of Wonders, or Heroes of Might and Magic. The result is a game that respects its roots while offering enough modern polish to feel viable in today’s strategy landscape. The central premise of Master of Magic is deceptively simple: players take on the role of a powerful wizard attempting to dominate two interconnected worlds—Arcanus and Myrror—by raising armies, casting powerful spells, expanding cities, and ultimately defeating rival wizar...

As a guy who has wasted so much time on the original version of MoM, I was skeptical about this one. I decided to go ahead and try it, however, and I was delighted. As far as I can tell, this iteration of the game is nearly identical to the original in terms of gameplay. Some may not appreciate that, hoping for something that pays homage to the OG but is also wildly different. That isn't this. Same races, same 2 planes, same buildings and same units with the same abilities. Same spells, same land features. So much the same that my go-to strategy to win in the original works exactly the same way in this. I like that. Others may not. It's a graphical improvement on a wonderfully crafted game. There are a few other minor differences, such as interfacing with city development and moving units around, but the small changes like that don't make the game much different. Almost exactly the same game with a better, updated look. If that's what you want, then this is your jam. If you're ho...
Plays like the first game game. love both version. great game.
Keep it to the point and simple. graphics are an upgrade, nothing spectacular The UI is worse, its a game from the 80's and UI is garbage compared to today. This UI makes the original's UI look like solid gold. These clowns did a very poor job. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS. Just buy the original, you will have more fun. So disappointing!
A typical example of how an incompetent game designer ruined the game. Please excuse my bluntness. The game turned out too casual, boring, and unbalanced. The opponents are completely insignificant. A complete zero. Low-level spells allow you to quickly reach incredible speeds when moving around the map. And with a couple of good packs, you can destroy everything in your path. Sieges of cities should be much more difficult than dungeons. Only dungeons here offer any kind of challenge. In this regard, Caster of Magic is much more interesting. Even the original from the 90s is much more exciting. Such a project and brand have simply been ruined :(. Guys, find some investment, finish the game, and you'll make a lot of money. Things to add in 2025.1 A full-fledged story. 2. Truly different races. 3. Interesting and unpredictable AI that is truly challenging. 4. Deeper role-playing for the main mage and heroes (super champions could be given their own story and chain of quests for leveling...
This is an outstanding remake of a classic fantasy sim game, one of the originals. They have done a great job eliminating the bugs that plagued the original while upgrading the graphics. I bought it on a whim remembering the hours of fun I had on my old 286, I have no regrets. I'm off to lead my high elf long bowmen and war troll army to take the halfling town!
I'm the 'mancer that the Necronomicon was wrote about Hex with me? That's something that a wizard should be told about Scroll this out: Every incantation you utter, witch I can hear it you stutter Muh-muh-muh mumblemancer spit it out Dark Lord—evil from the start, call me "bad guy" Shadow over all of creation, gave it a black eye Original villain from the birth of the universe Wizard if you think that you're evil you were my student first
