About This Game

Take on the commanding role for an advanced special weapons and tactics team. SWAT Commander places great focus on realism, drawing not only from the rich history of tactical games, but also real-life situations that saw need for this kind of units to intervene.

Your squad members follow your lead, but also actively respond to various situations themselves to effectively combat hostiles and follow police protocol. Make sure you issue the correct orders but also remember that you'll be right there in the middle of the action, performing many tasks yourself!

As a highly-trained operative and member of a key tactical unit, you and your people will be sent on a number of highly dangerous missions.

Become the witness of hostage situations, robberies, gang wars, and many other criminal activities. Complete missions with computer-controlled operatives or with your friends in co-op mode of up to 5 players in total!

Equip your team members with the right gear for the role that you intend for them, whether it's offense, support, or defense.

Weapons:

 • semi-automatic handguns

 • submachine guns

 • automatic rifles

 • shotguns

 • an array of non-lethal measures

Apparel:

 • light armor (kevlar, ceramic)

 • heavy armor (kevlar, ceramic)

 • ballistic shield

 • various headgear for protection from different hazards

Utilities:

 • grenades

 • C2 explosives

 • first aid injector

 • lockpick gun

 • battering ram

Properly equipping your SWAT squad is only the first step. Every situation you and your team end up in requires careful assessment if you want to bring everyone back to headquarters in one piece.

Pay attention to the briefing and study whatever intel you get before you set out to complete the operation.

SWAT Commander's missions take place in a number of different settings, from offices to industrial compounds to even a sprawling old mansion. It is up to you to know the paths for your team to take, the available cover and the potential hazards in the form of armed hostiles and innocent bystanders. Always be aware of your surroundings or suffer the consequences.

Always know what you're doing but, more importantly, know why you're doing it. The game features missions with a number of different objectives:

 • eliminating bloodthirsty terrorists

 • capturing ruthless criminals

 • rescuing vulnerable hostages

 • recovering valuable intel

 • securing crucial evidence

 • clearing key locations of hostiles

Use your tactical skills to the best of your abilities. Don't leave anything up to chance by using a special system of order queuing to ensure a smooth sequence of actions among your units.

Keep your head down and keep it clear but press on and complete that mission. A good strategy is the key to succeeding in SWAT Commander.

Nice reminder how games should be made. Has great potential. SWAT 4 successor. Much better in many ways to RoN. Keep up the great work devs.
For information game runs flawlessly on my low-end computer
... well it can change, but currently august 6th 2025 it runs flawlessly ! edit 12/08 : 6/10 missions available in early access. Actually at 5th mission, without issue, except some lags at (wider) chapter 3, but still didn't get any crash. graphics settings : all high / 60FPS capped OS : W10 64 bits (resolution : 1920x1080 - directX 11) SSD / 8 Go RAM i5-7400 @3Ghz Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB (not the 6GB version) https://youtu.be/R64mr4buhXA ___________________ About the game itself, it's like Swat 4 as i remember it in my dreams, but with animations that are still quite rigid. But also a more simple level-design (less a maze). I finished Ready or not full single player campaign (it was playable after a patch except some stutterings on DLC), the two games complement each other. Actually by default, after opening commands menu you have to confirm every order with space. I just hope that devs will add a possibility to co...

I have always loved the earlier SWAT games, so I was curious to see what SWAT Commander would bring to the table. Unfortunately, not much has changed. The graphics are slightly better, the gameplay marginally expanded, but the core loop remains exactly the same: Line up, check under the door with a mirror, throw a flashbang, shoot. Then repeat. And repeat again. All across the entire map. What once felt tactical now just feels repetitive and dull. The biggest frustration comes from the AI teammates. The bots are so hopelessly incompetent that they sabotage your mission score no matter how carefully you play. No matter how much effort you put in, you’re constantly punished for their mistakes. On top of that, some missions force you to chase after tiny clues in order to succeed. I simply don’t have the patience for that. Some are bugged and cant be found. And it gets worse: once your avatar takes a bullet, you’re doomed to crawl around at a snail’s pace until the inevita...

I'll prefix this by saying that I left a negative review for the demo version of this game and honestly I planned on just leaving it there and never looking back. The Devs, however, actually replied to that review and that gave me hope for the future product. Perhaps the devs were very passionate and wanted to make something good? So when I saw that the game itself had actually launched I decided to bite the bullet once more and delve back in. Aaaaaaaand basically everything I felt was wrong with the demo was still massively present in the EA release which is just horridly, horridly disappointing. I will say now that my specs are well above recommended for the game and you can find them on my profile. It also isn't a skill issue as I have every single achievement in Ready or Not which is undeniably a feat. The game is just... very goofy. The tone is super wacky, it feels like they're trying to go for something super dark and twisted like RoN but it looks a lot more like Spirit Hallo...

- Poor translation - Poor optimization - Poor gameplay - Poor movement - Poor animations - Poor voices - Poor sounds - Poor graphic This is a trashy, lowkey SWAT-Shooter for at least one or two sessions with the boys, but nothing more. German translation is totally out of hand AI-based, gunfights feel like a clunky assetflip and I'm pretty sure this game will NEVER leave this state of Early Access. Last time they dropped EA they had to change their name from "Tactical SWAT Stories" to "SWAT Commander". I wouldn't be suprised if this game will be re-release under a third name if this attempt here fails. CONCLUSION: SWAT Assetflip, no way this will EVER become better then a mod-fixed Ready or Not. (Don't blame yourself guys, we all know about RoN's problems, but also about it's obvious adventages over this mediocre tech demo). If you're REALLY looking for an alternative to RoN , and I totally understand if people say that, than do yourself a favor, get SWAT 4 for a couple of Bucks at...

Good game for singleplayer. Horrible Ready or Not ripoff otherwise. Buggy and Laggy.

I’ve only played for an hour and I’m leaving this review to update later. The game is definitely in a playable state. I’ve played a lot of early access games, and this one is among the rare few that felt playable right from the start I mean at least for me. It might not be the same for everyone, of course. Here are the things I found lacking during my time playing: sound design and quality AI. If these are improved before adding new maps or equipment, the overall quality of the game will increase. Also, thank you for the Turkish language support and regional pricing. I hope this game reaches much greater heights. Kudos to developers.

Really awesome tactical shooter with solid mechanics and good AI teammates. It's very reminiscent of early 2000's and is stylistically very similar to SWAT 4, but with many more options for how to play. I look forward to seeing how this progresses and can't wait for more levels. Keep up the great work devs!

Walked into a house restrained an old lady, blew her up with c2, walked outside and died like John Marston 10/10

Game is just fine as a new Early Access release. In fact it's pretty high quality for a budget 17 bucks early access game compared to most of the slop that gets released in EA. Even the menu's look good, there's a decent base roster for weapons, customization, maps. Ofc you'll run into bugs and there's obvious placeholders but if you like swat games you should be excited that we're going through our second golden age with all the new swat games releasing. Support what you want to see. (I have more playtime than this but I played in Steam offline mode)
