Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a fantastic remaster that really brings the original to life with updated graphics and improved quality-of-life changes. The visuals are sharp, and the character models look great, which helps bring Zack’s story to a whole new level. If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy VII, this is a must-play, as it’s the prequel that fleshes out Zack’s character and his journey, giving a lot more depth to the events that lead into FFVII. Zack is a total standout—his personality, growth, and relationships make him a character you can really get behind. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, this remaster does a great job of making it all feel fresh while still holding onto the magic of the original.

INITIATING COMBA- REVIEW MODE Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core is probably one of my favorite PSP era games and the remake doesn't disappoint it's just how you remember it, mission hell, but that's what makes it fun, going through getting overpowered and utterly breaking the game before you even beat the story is what it's all about. Does it overstay it's welcome because of that? It sure does! But it still has a place among my favorites in the series, the story itself follows Zack and is the origin story of everything leading up to Final Fantasy VII, is it a bit cringe at times? Oh absolutely, but it has it's moments and overall tells what it needs to story wise. Just know that the combat is a little different compared to that and this one does feel more dated due to it being a PSP remake, but personally I enjoyed the materia system and builds better in this one, even if remake does have the better combat. But if you can look past those it's still worth a playthrough.

this is coming from someone who never played the OG crisis core and was interested of the prequel to ff7. If you are a fan of the OG crisis core you probably think this game improved alot from OG, well this review is not for you. I judge this as a full fledge pc game, so dont give me that OG psp limitation bullshit. my god where do i start on this awful mess of a game. Gameplay I started the game on hard, was hoping for some challenge but its literally just stat checks. no actual skill needed. even when you do have the skill to bypass the stat checks, there are bosses where they do a unavoidable dps check right before dying, if you dont have the dps, you die, great design (yeah you can use phoenix down but still). There is barely any build variety, magic build is shit pass mid game. literally just spam the strongest physical move you do and just win. Customisation is as basic as 6 materia slots and 4 equipment slots. Content the game has like, 10 hours of main quest, and 2...

It doesn't look and play as good as Remake Intergrade and especially not as Rebirth and is quite a bit shorter, but it's still a nice game with a good story. The ending is pretty sad though. :(

4/10 I have never been the biggest FF7 fan honestly. While I have played all of the mainline FF games, I never really followed the level of hype the series got compared to the other FF entries. I still appreciated FF7, but I wouldn't call it my favorite. However there is an entry that I remember not really liking at all. Crisis Core. I remember not liking changes they made to the FF7 lore. Specifically Genesis and Zack's change from a strong soldier to Terminator 2.0. Now, Finally being able to play the game in a modern setting as well taught me one thing for FF7. I do not like Crisis Core that much. Story Crisis Core story is easily the one aspect that everyone brings up, but I just feel like they like to skim past 98% of the game's story and focus on the last 5 minutes of the game with its ending. I get it, strong endings make lasting impressions, but even I have issues with the game's ending. Like stated before, the change from a portrayal of a strong human to a Terminator was ...

8/10 Perfect prequel to FFVII. Deepens Clouds' story while also creating a perfect protag for this game in Zack. Challenges can be very repetitive, the "Secret" boss is quite easy in comparison just has a lot of HP. You can tell this is more of a "Remaster" than the Remakes that have come out, some of the cutscenes are still a bit janky. A must play if you like Remake and Rebirth.
