I think the game is very enjoyable on a first playthrough when you are looking for all of the secret areas and just enjoying the world, you can get about 90 minutes of exploration out of it, but the character is effectively immortal because he respawns where he died, you lose some currency for cosmetic unlocks but it's not a significant amount. If you don't care for collection you can casually complete the game in 1 hour or less. The death only matters if you are doing a speedrun, which you do need to do for some unlocks like the songs, granted they are not challenging and if you want those achievements it will not be very time consuming (I got all the time-attack challenges with no practice, it's not that difficult). The hard mode has 1 less heart which in a practical sense, makes no difference because you are not losing any more progress. To be clear, I don't mind easy games, but in a long run, I think it makes the replay value for this game less appealing, and I think the hard mode ...

Dang son, you really just released a demo as a full game? lol What is there is really all solid, but after waiting for so long you really haven't added all that much over the gamejam version. Also you ruined the most impactful moment of the gamejam version by actually showing us who tells Teabat "Show No Fear!" after the fall. I won't refund, even if I probably should

I really enjoyed the overall style of the game, but it is just a mindless hyper casual collectathon. There is absolutely zero challenge or sense of level design. It is just wide open levels with a bunch of stuff to collect. It also suffers from "sonic-syndrome", where the character moves rediculously fast, but your FOV is so small you are never able to actually properly utilize it, so you will just continuously bonk into walls or fly into enemies. Really is unfortunate, because the game obviously had a ton of work put into it and the foundation is great. The gameplay is just tedious and bland. Took me about 40 minutes to fully 100% the 1st world, out of I believe 4. Then i quickly explored world 2 to see if it was any different, and it seemed like it was gonna be more of the same so I just dropped it.

An absolute blast from start to finish. Simple to pick up and play, but with staggering depth beneath the surface. Absolutely fantastic.

Good 2d collectathon. The low res and limited color palette will probably keep most people away, but I think it looks great, the things/area with pseudo/fake 3d is really well done. Game only has episode 1 now, which will be around or slightly more than 2 hours if you take your time. I found plenty of replay value with the game though. Especially with arcade mode, which starts you off with a 99 seconds time limit, and getting hit reducing the time even further. In order to build up the timer, you've to stay in the air for as much as possible bouncing from enemy to enemy to build a combo which imo has a really good flow.

I'm really glad I didn't let this game pass me by! It isn't the longest of games but I can see myself getting a lot of replay value thanks to Time Trial and Arcade Mode, as well as the general rank system. It's a charming and visually eye-popping game and the music will be lodged in my head for a while. Check it out if you're interested!

Really cute and fun little retro platformer with plenty of unlockables and replayability, with a soundtrack full of nice tunes. Not too difficult but a very nice time. Can't recommend it enough!

Though it may be short, Teabat! is well worth your time just for its style, music, and charm alone. If you like retro platformers, give it a try!
