About This Game

ARK and ADE is an action-jammed VR FPS shooter in which you get to experience the glory of the 80’s arcade era in a neon fused setting 🀘😎.

Shoot your way through retro-futuristic levels filled with enemies, iconic over the top bosses and never ending bullets. Collect secrets and trophies, enjoy destructible environments and cover as you utilize an array of immersive features such as bullet time, shield and dual-wielding weapons. Insert coin to play! πŸ€–

FEATURES

 • Three game modes: Endless, Arena and Arcade

 • Many unique and recognizable (well if you enjoy the era specific pop-cultural references at least...) bosses

 • Gorgeous aesthetics – play the insides of an arcade cabinet

 • Choose between free locomotion and teleport movement

 • Difficulty settings fit both beginners and challenge hardcore players

 • Detailed statistics and dozens of achievements and secrets

 • Compatible with bHaptics, ProTube VR and Liv

HOW YOU MOVE IS UP TO YOU

You can choose between Free Locomotion, Dash or Blink Teleport Movement to avoid motion sickness. We know that not everyone has what is called "VR legs", should you not be comfortable with the default locomotion method you can always switch to one the others in the option menu.

DIVE INTO THE 80s

Plunge into the nostalgic 80’s Low-poly Sci-Fi setting. Dune, Stargate, Blade Runner, Tron, Star Wars, Idiana Jones, Space Invaders, R-Type are just some of the revered 80s sci-fi movies and videogames that inspired the setting of the game.

PROTECT ARK, THE KEY TO SAVE HUMANITY

Protect ARK from ADE’s army: it's the key to save humanity, the only thing that could change the future of our race forever. Some enemies will focus solely on him, you and ARK share the save life, defend it at all costs.

MORPHING GUN

"This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting and this is for fun" Just one gun, a very powerful weapon that will morph into anything you need to defeat ADE and save the world will accompany you all the game long.

ENJOY DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIROMENT AND COVERS

Parts of the level are destructible. Be careful while choosing a cover; it might not last long enough to save you from ADE's army. On the other hand, it may also be a chance to unlock new paths to defeat ADE.

UNLOCK SECRETS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Collect all the secrets and unlock all achievements for the ultimate challange!

Shoot to the beat of our original soundtrack

ABOUT US

Four friends, three cats, one castle (which is actually a rented house and that's where the name of the company comes from) and an old sick passion for gaming. The idea of making a videogame has been with us for a long time, after a few years just thinking about it we took some time off our actual jobs and we are finally trying to follow our dream. So here it starts our journey with ARK and ADE, our first videogame.

We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

A game with a lot of polish behind it. Although it is short (mostly when you know what to do), the devs proved their dedication to keep adding new content throughout the next pack of months.

If you're a VR player who remembers the 80's and 90's, you'll really get a kick out of this game. Super enjoyable and wonderful aesthetic. It's one of those games I'll have my friends try whenever they come over!

Really excellent first-person shooter! At first, I didn't expect a lot from it, but I was very surprised. - an overall high quality VR shooter - although EA, I encountered no bugs at all - very entertaining and balanced gameplay - nice and fluid animation of the enemy soldiers and robots - wonderful retro 80s/Tron vibe - I love how the world seems to be build/un-build when you move through it - bullet-time never gets old + other fun power-ups - nice variety of levels - fantastic performance on a mid-range gaming laptop!! Recommended if you can appreciate a pure mindless shooter with a 80s arcade feel.

Wooww I just had an absolute blast playing through several levels Adrenaline shooting ! Thinking fast how to squeeze the bullet time and at the same time dodging everything the game ends up throwing to you. Very polished intense gameplay I wish the game to have more content at facing the boss, that is by now the only thing to mention. ( Remember this is still being developed as an Early Access game :) ) Because what it is right now is amazing but it has a certain level of iteration, beyond that the gameplay is pure fun, challenging mixed with a big neon party :P

Its a prety fun little game that I bought very cheap. What I do not like : -That at the end of every level thereΒ΄s a boss, and a very similar one in all levels ( so far ). -And the lack of personalization ( like a shop where you could expend points in guns, skins and so on ) -Playing with 2 guns is very fun, this powerup should appear more often. -That you cannot reload presing any button, only with hand gesture ( which after half hour or so is exhausting ). What I like it : -The rest

Love the arcade vibe. Plenty of movement options to suit every preference. As a handicapped gamer who has to play VR seated, this game was not difficult at all to play sitting down. In fact, it felt smoother and easier to play seated than some other VR games I've played.
A TRON-like Bullet-Hell VR Shooter That Is Extremely Fun!
If you're a fan of stylish, high-octane bullet-hell arcade VR shooters, ARK & ADE is a must-play. The game impressed me right from the start with its TRON-like visual style, delivering a neon-drenched aesthetic that is both modern and nostalgic. The way you get sucked into the arcade cabinet from the basement, was just super cool to see in VR. The vibrant colors and simplistic graphics perfectly complement the fast-paced arcade gameplay and looks very pleasing in VR. Shooting Mechanics & Enemies The arcade-style shooting mechanics are very satisfying in this game that give nods to various arcade games from the 80s and 90s. Weapons are given to you like Metal Slug, shoot the upgrade powerup in the air and you will receive the new weapon with limited ammo. Once the ammo is depleted, you get your main pistol blaster back. The difficulty is fair, striking a perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment. There ar...

$3 for this one, tops. Yeah... it was ok. I got this on sale for $9 and I don't think it was worth it. I don't really care/want to replay this. The replay mechanics don't really appeal to me. The 'great soundtrack' tag got me, but I don't think that's the case. Repetitive enemies. Secrets that (for a first time player) may as well be totally random. Locked paths is annoying. Some cool weapons, some cool bosses, but I've played a lot of RPGs that have that, and also a compelling binding narrative and/or expansive beautiful environments. ArKAde has neither. It was just kind of a shooting gallery that you're supposed to be able to get through in about 5 minutes per level. It's not that I disliked it, I just know my gaming time would've been better spent elsewhere.

I played the demo and enjoyed it enough to buy it. I'm not sure how to categorise this other than a rail shooter except that you are able to move around. However.. The Ark forces you to keep moving forward preventing you from taking cover from the enemies. Pros - The game has an 80's arcade vibe with some Tron essence to it. - The soundtrack is pleasant. - Nice variety of enemies, abilities and weapons - Nice player / Level stats - Nice immersive grafx. Cons - Some performance issues when doing boss battles. Even with a system that far exceeds recommended specs - Only one game mode which can affect re-play value. The CONs can easily be resolved as this game progresses and grows. I purchased it on Sale and really enjoy playing it. It's also a great game to introduce friends into VR.
