Let me start off by saying that this thumbs up is because I don't feel like this game deserves a thumbs down, not because I recommend it. It feels like a lot of care went into this game, but it needed like, another month. TL;DR it's like a 6 or 7 out of 10. If you love parry-based games and/or hard but usually fair combat, you might like this game. I can't say I love it, but I had fun, and the price was right. First, I want to talk about the art. The environment art in this game is very pretty. The character art, a little less so. The designs themselves are pretty good, but a lot of the animations are sometimes a little goofy (e.g. the run cycle on the serious protagonist is very bouncy and lively). Tossing sound in with art because I don't have a lot to say: The sound design exists. Nothing to write home about, but it's fine. Game design is where the real meat of my opinions lie. Caveat: I don't know that I'm very good at parry-based games, so take my experience with a grain ...

About This Game
Unique Non-Lethal Combat: Tomoe has sworn not to take another life, and must instead just disarm her enemies. Use a combination of counters and disarming ki-attacks to defeat the shogun’s army.
Depth and Customization: Find your own fighting style by making use of special ki techniques that allow for unique combos, as well as enhancements from crests and herb infusions you find across the land of Bakugawa.
Striking Environments: Explore the sacred nature and mistreated districts of Bakugawa, where its society lives under a violent and corrupt military regime, isolated from the world and shattered by the terrors of its past wars.
Emotional storytelling: Even as a coward and deserter through the eyes of her own people, ronin Tomoe returns to her former land after witnessing all the blood that a blade can shed, hoping to spark the hope and courage Bakugawa needs to fight back against its violent political methods.
Extra Challenges: Push your skills to the limit by collecting Warrior Idols scattered throughout Bakugawa and unlocking the Arenas. Whether you seek to refine your combat prowess or prove yourself as the ultimate Bloodless warrior, the Arenas offer a relentless challenge for those brave enough to take them on.

Very unique and fun game. Lots of enemy variety, and every enemy demands that you learn their moveset, to know which moves allow you to parry when and where. You can not rely on reflex alone, sometimes you just need to remember the moment you can strike to perform a perfect parry. This game can be frustrating sometimes with hitboxes and getting stunlocked by multiple enemies performing unblockable moves, but once you know how to avoid that kind of shit and actually learn your enemies movesets... This game becomes quite satisfying. I guess I now understand why so many people like games like Sekiro. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then this is not for you. If it does... Be patient with the game, and you'll have a fun time. I also want to highlight the animation, artstyle and overall story. The story is not amazing, but surprisingly intruiging and fun to follow. And honestly for this price... You really can't go wrong. Give the demo a try, otherwise.
