A cool game until the shooting stops, another boomer shooter with lazy level design that will make you spend more time wandering around trying to figure out where to go then actually playing the game.

About the Game

Selaco is a brand new original shooter inspired by classics, featuring thrilling action set pieces, destructibility, smart enemies and a fleshed out story taking place within an immersive game world. It draws inspiration heavily from F.E.A.R. in terms of action set pieces, while mixing exploration elements from Half-Life, along with some more modern features.

The story takes place during a violent invasion on Selaco, a massive space station sheltering the last refugees after Earth’s fall just a few years prior. You play as Dawn Collins, an ACE Security Captain who, with her recent promotion and high level security clearances, is digging deep into the truth behind Selaco's murky history. Before she can finish her investigation, Selaco is rocked by explosions and armed invaders.

A lengthy adventure-driven campaign
Selaco offers a massive, uninterrupted journey packed with action and atmosphere. Explore a wide range of environments in a fully connected world - no cutaways, no time jumps, just seamless momentum from start to finish.
Intense Action set pieces
Blast through your environment with impactful weapons that really leave a mark on the world. That once lavish office space, now nothing but a pile of rubble with broken paintings, smashed tables, screen, chairs, smoke, and chunks of debris.
Custom AI
Selaco’s AI was built from the ground up for dynamic, coordinated combat. Enemies communicate, flank, suppress, and adapt to your tactics - keeping pressure when you're aggressive or rushing when you're vulnerable. Hundreds of voiced lines hint at their next move, making every fight feel alive.
Full soundtrack
Selaco features an original, full-length soundtrack composed by Lawrence Steele, with over 3 hours of neon-tinged electronica spanning from high-intensity combat tracks to immersive, atmospheric soundscapes.
Adapt & Overcome
As enemies evolve and gain access to new tools, so do you. Improve your weaponry with new utility upgrades, or transform weapon behavior entirely with Weapon Kits.
Replayability
Selaco is designed with replayability in mind. Jump into Randomizer Mode to experience remixed mechanics, exclusive enemies, and fully customizable chaos. Or test your skills in Incursion Mode, an endless survival challenge set in Deathmatch-style arenas. ![]()

User Reviews
TL;DR: If you like a modern "movement-shooter" twist on an old-school FPS framework, this IS the game for you. Mostly everything from the gameplay to the music is excellent, though there are a few weak spots involving some enemy design, engine-jank, pacing, and storytelling. Playing this game on the highest difficulty was some of the funnest gaming I've experienced in years. Also, Roaring Cricket FTW. (For posterity, this review comes from a run-through of the “Admiral’ difficulty.) Growing up on boomer shooters like Doom, I thought I'd seen everything that needed to be seen from sequels, imitators, and the wonderful modding community, but, wow, I was wrong. Selaco is just a whole different beast. GAMEPLAY: Imagine FEAR (minus the slow-mo) with Titanfall 2/Apex Legends gunplay/movement (with a slide-cool down to keep things “fair”), but in GZDoom. Sounds scary and like an impossible task, yeah? Don’t worry, I thought the same thing, and was proven wron...
I really liked the exploration, the gunfights, and the incredible level of detail and variety in the environment. Hunting for secrets was a lot of fun too. Almost as fun as the actual fighting. As many people have pointed out: don't let "early access" fool you; there's a lot of game here, even in its current state. A tip: it’s easy to get lost, especially at the beginning. Make sure you use both the map and the waypoint markers to help yourself out. I am really looking forward to the next chapters.
Excellent game. Sidenote, the code comments are an amusing insight into the development. "Good Lord send help.." is always a reassuring sign of passionate developers. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter!
The amount of love and attention this game has in its levels is mind-boggling and the combat is perfect. This is a must buy for anyone wanting a great single player shooter.
I’m writing this review after two hours of playtime, and they were two wonderful hours. Great visuals, very smooth gameplay, awesome music. That's a 10.
A perfect example that you don't need UE5 or CryEngine to achieve good visuals, and that the old way of making shooters is still viable if done right! The world of Selaco is big, open and fun to explore. There are SO many objects you can interact with, and can be the randomest of things, from the usual toilet flush or faucets, to a bear returning machine in a toy store, which compensates you with coins, opening up monitors, using mouses and keyboards(they dont really do much, but just the fact that they are interactable makes the game fun) The game has open levels out in the street, moving from stores to stores to find your way forward, every single food item you see, you can bet you can eat it and also get HP out of it when Aid kits are scarce. Finding your way to progress can be sometimes confusing, which is the common reason that people dont really commit to the game, and its not that linear, so sometimes backtracking is the way to realise where you need to go. The gunplay is ex...
amazing and innovative fps with developers who listen and collaborate with the community, one of the best fps boomer shooters I've ever played
Selaco is a bridge. Yes, you read that right. A bridge between the old and the new, in a very harmonic way, if that makes sense. Old-school, classic engine (or whatever the correct term is, i'm not an expert lol) BUT looks modern and fresh. Old-school FPS mechanics BUT spiced up with a dash of novelty and QoL. Old-school sci-fi (cold and brutalist) vibes BUT presented and built in a modern way. Selaco has a lot going for it. Weapons feel meaty and impactful (the nastiest shotgun i've seen in a while), combat is fast and exciting, references are funny and secrets are plentiful. There are moments of rest and there are enemy ambushes, there is melancholy and there is humor, there is slow, calming music and there are adrenaline-pumping bangers. All of this is only the first chapter, mind you, which is massive already. Some might be discouraged by the 'early access' tag, but the game is very polished, with devs responding to feedback and improving gameplay in a sensible way. Passion ra...
Earth is gone. Hell is full. Rip and tear - UNTIL IT IS DONE! ... Sadly, blood is NOT fuel, for this game. (You have a First Aid Kit! USE IT!)
