This is fantastic tool to create 2d maps for other VTT tools like Roll20. This is what I use it for which is only a fraction of its capabilities. It does take a little bit of playing around with to understand what all of the tools do, but it is intuitive enough that you can figure it out easily. The AI generated room fillings are actually pretty darn good and the AI does fill nature scenes even better with foliage and such. Its almost a must for DMs that use 2d VTTs.

I've been messing around with making maps for a while now. This, in my opinion, is the best tool for the job - provided you are doing Fantasy settings! Easy to use tools, easy to learn, lets you generate rooms for you if you don't like to mess around with tiny details and just want the general layout of stuff. And another awesome thing? You can important it to Foundry (and a few others) and it'll actually lay out all the walls, doors, windows, etc, for you - meaning once you made the map, it's 100% ready to be used!

Since the latest update this has become my favoruite digital map making tool for TTRPG'S. Maps you make intergrate seemlessly with Roll20 wich saves a lot of time and the proces of making dungeons is just straight up fun using Dungeon Alchemist.

As the forever DM (Dungeon Master) of my group, it's always been an uphill battle trying to find good, relevant maps for the places that I intend my players to have encounters and battles on. This is by far the best software I have for that, not just because I can spitball and refine a map, but because it can directly export things for play on Roll20.net (and foundry apparently, but I'm too poor to use more than one VTT) This has been a miracle for creating my own maps, but also ones that use the line-of-sight on roll20 very well. TL;DR: If you do any sort of TTRPG online and run the games? This is the GOAT.

One of the best utilities for virtual tabletop. Makes MAP making easy and fun even if you're not an artist and the only thing that the downside is that you lose time you get so into making maps. But isn't really a bad thing?

I've used this quite a bunch to make levels for my Foundry D&D game, and its quite great. Its relatively easy to make new areas, and there are many levels made by the community that you can access. My players like the levels and appreciate the detail they have. Larger levels can take a toll on your computer resources, you may want to plan ahead and divvy up larger areas into smaller ones to ensure good performance.
