When I first encountered the dev showing off his caravan riding in the desert area I liked the game. I was sold when I misread the title as Caravan Sandwich. Maybe I was just hungry at the time but after the demo was released I played through it to find there was a Caravan but no Sandwich:(. Notice how I still didnt read the title properly. When the game was released and I played through it is when my disappointment was immeasurable as there still wasn't a sandwich in game!!! Its been a while and I got reminded of the game when I saw a caravan on the road and finally read the title correctly. There was no sandwich in the title :(((. Where was I going with this?
What can be said about an absolutely enjoyable puzzle/adventure game? The art was fantastic, the narrative wonderful, and the exploration intriguing. The visual style was so refreshing, similar to that of 'Heaven's Vault'. The camera and control movement was very smooth and intuitive. I really appreciated the 'points of interest' that were panoramic in nature, allowing a pause to let you just take in the surrounding scenery. It made me want to visit and wander this imaginary world. The ending was a bit rushed, there being a whole area within the storm that could have been incorporated into the exploration story. A missed opportunity or my just wanting to explore 'Cigalo' further? Not sure, but with a whole world to explore, a sequel would be more than welcome.
An open world adventure where you and your trusty caravan goes around the planet in a galaxy far far away, where corporate greed has devastated most of the world and the survivors, small in numbers as they are try and live as they can. You go through this semi futuristic world, meet interesting characters and solve the mystery of your long lost sister whom you receive a distress call. Pro + Love the graphic style with its watercolour feel and whimsical flourishes, the characters in 3D polygons are a bit jarring but don't detract. + A lovely bunch of characters which you can interact with, not to much development for most of them, but you do find tit bits of information of the world lore and history through your interactions. + The storyline is interesting but falls short with so much more potential for world building. But nevertheless the overall storyline is nice and worth it. + A lot of side quests that you can do, varied and interesting. + Game mechanics are interesting wit...
The game's cute, looks and sounds great. It got kinda repetetive, and either the translation was a bit wonky, or just the writing was a bit too naive and childish. But nevertheless it was a nice experience.
Short and sweet. Great story, setting and refreshing lack of violence.
nice story loved it
This is a scenic adventure across a devastated landscape as you solve puzzles to push forward in your search for your sister. It's compact and will involve a bit of backtracking, but the atmosphere is calming and relaxed so I didn't mind that at all. The game itself isn't long; my ~12.5 hours involved a lot of aimless driving around and exploring. The small cast of characters are charming, though a couple can be a little one dimensional given the brief interactions you'll have with them. The gameplay itself is fairly tight. The van turns on a dime, which took me a bit to get used to, and a couple of places have slightly awkward jumps, but there are no enemies or health bars to worry about, so it's a simple matter to go back and try again. There are a couple of things that feel incomplete or unexplained (like the
dinosaur cave
or the
voice behind the door on the cliff
, but the core of the game and the few requests you'll get from the inhabitants yo...
The game was pretty relaxing and had an interesting story. This was the first game of its kind that I've played it and it had relaxing music, eye pleasing graphics and not overly complicated game mechanics. The one of the endings in the game was a little lackluster, but i enjoyed the game overall. The game is worth buying when on sale like i did.
Cute, cozy, thoughtful, sad
