This is more of an informational review than a negative one. I love these games but Devil in me is not as good as the rest. Ill start with what i enjoyed; I really like the direction they are going with the gameplay aspect, this one is a lot more interactive than the others, and it plays well. I feel a lot more engaged with the story than i did in the previous games. I also like the special features, where you can get a look at the models similar to the resident evil remakes. The graphics are nice, the sound design is great as always, and the atmosphere at the start was very good. My main issue with this game was the writing, as it felt unpolished, and there were a lot of instances where things just made no sense. Without spoiling too much, the characters just do stupid stuff all the time, like say "okay guys, we need to stick together" and then literally instantly running away and getting separated because they hear a noise, I'm not exaggerating. There is a girl with ast...

About This Game

A series of stand-alone branching cinematic horror games from the studio behind Until Dawn. Easy to pick-up and play in short sessions, alone or with friends. The Devil in Me is the fourth game in the series and the Season One finale.
A group of documentary film makers receive a mysterious call inviting them to a modern-day replica of serial killer H.H. Holmes’ ‘Murder Castle’. It’s an opportunity that’s too good to pass up and could be just the thing they’re looking for to win some much-needed public interest.
The hotel is the perfect set for their new episode, but things aren’t quite as they seem. The crew discover they’re being watched and even manipulated, and suddenly there’s much more at stake than just their ratings!

Nothing is as it seems here, and the amenities are to die for! Explore every nook of the World’s Fair Hotel using the all-new season finale features including character inventory, tool-based puzzles, and expanded movement actions such as run, jump, and climb.

Escape the torturous creations of an evil monster who is hellbent on becoming America’s deadliest serial killer & survive elaborate ‘killing rooms’ where your own death is by the killer’s design.

Endure terrifying tests of loyalty – will you risk your own life for someone you care for? The two critically acclaimed multiplayer modes are back: share your story online with a friend or aim for safety in numbers through the offline 5-player pass-the-pad mode.
Can you outsmart the killer and checkout all your cast? All playable characters can live or die in your version of the story.
The Curator's Cut
The Curator's cut features new scenes playable from the other characters' perspective with brand new choices and decisions to make.
The Curator's cut is only available once you have completed the main story.

This game blows massive cock, no polite way to say it. Never has a game pissed me off this fucking bad. The writing is completely and utterly retarded. The other dark pictures games pretty alright. OK. Spoilers, but it does not matter, don't play this shit. So it was towards the end of the game two characters are alive which are Mark and Kate. (All the others died because the game is soooooooooooooo fucking glitchy, I dont know how anyone other than EA could release such a piece of shit.) But anyways mark is in the lighthouse at the end of the game he then looks out the window to see Kate running in and yells "KATE IM UP HERE!", then all of a sudden Mr Holmes is behind him, they get into a bit of a tussle, and Mark grabs an ax, swings it at him a few times. Right before getting a MASSIVE FUCKING STRIKE ON HOMIES HEAD KATE BURSTS THROUGH THE DOOR AND MARK DROPS HIS FUCKING AX TO HIS HIPS AND DUMBFOUNDED SAYS "kate?" AND THEN EVIL DR HOUSE GRABS THE AX OUT OF MARKS HAND AND KATE AND MARK...
Love the DPA and this one is fantastic! But things like the Friend pass being bundled with my copy even though it doesn't actually work really left a sour taste from the get go. This one has probably the worst eye tracking which is some times funny, some times just pulls you out of it and the characters dead pan across a room. The jump scares get me in this one harder than any of the past games. But also in a good way.
It's hard for me to recommend this game. Controlling character movement felt like pushing characters through molasses, context markers were inconsistent with how visible they were, several situations that led to kills seemed disconnected from the rest of the logic of the game, and the tight dark corridors and erratic camera movement had me too motion sick by the end of the game to actually finish it. Plus, the serial killer's backstory and his motives had me rolling my eyes once I knew enough about him, which drained most of the tension out of the game. Basically, despite a potentially interesting story, the game was just a stressful and literally nauseating experience. : (
honestly i do enjoy the game and it definitely grabbed my attention unlike other games in the series (cough little hope) HOWEVER the lighting design is so bad oh my god. some parts are so dark it's actually unbearable. turning the brightness up does not help at all with this. the lights characters have at points barely do anything. i know "dark equals scary blah blah" but when you can't see ANYTHING at times it's absolutely frustrating. i know supermassive often has issues with games at times being "too dark" (lighting wise), but this truly takes the cake. genuinely i don't think any other game by them has given me this bad of issue. also i didn't really enjoy the climbing bits in the beginning #not fun.
other than bugs it was fine.. go into it with an open mind it wasnt as bad as people are saying
very good game, nice story. best story of the dark pictures anthology in my opinion
woke pos
nice game..
The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me marks a gripping and atmospheric finale to the first season of Supermassive Games’ horror anthology. This installment plunges players into a chilling, claustrophobic nightmare inspired by the real-life horrors of H.H. Holmes, the infamous American serial killer. Set in a modern-day recreation of his "Murder Castle," the game follows a documentary film crew lured into an isolated hotel under the pretense of filming a career-defining piece. What begins as a promising professional opportunity soon devolves into a struggle for survival, as they find themselves trapped inside a labyrinth of traps, surveillance, and psychological manipulation. The premise is disturbing in all the right ways, blending historical horror with slasher tropes and a technological twist that evokes the likes of Saw and The Shining without feeling like a direct copy. Narratively, the game builds a consistent sense of dread, offering a tight, standalone story that doesn...
