About the Game

The year is 401 AD, spring is in the air as the sun is slowly setting. What seems like a completely normal night by the river of the Rhine is turning out to be the beginning of the end for the world's longest lasting empire!

Yield! Fall of Rome is a turn-based 4X strategy game with fast-paced tactical gameplay set in the time of the imminent fall of the Roman Empire. Conquer provinces, expand your dominion, and immerse yourself in the drama of ancient Rome’s final days.

Forge Your Empire - Rewrite History!

The once mighty Roman Empire struggles to govern its vast realm. It is up to you to take advantage and lead your nation into the future.

  • Take command of one of eight playable factions - each with unique units, buildings, strengths and weaknesses.

  • Individual Campaigns for each faction- achieve long term objectives over multiple missions.

  • Advance your faction’s society according to the policies you choose - will you adapt Roman culture or keep the traditional ways?

Strategize, Conquer, Triumph!

Your strategic choices will determine your fate. Every move counts, and every choice echoes through history. Victory awaits those who choose wisely. Will you build an empire or crumble like ancient ruins?

  • Focused 4X experience - explore, expand, exploit, exterminate.

  • Gameplay designed to focus on tactics - outwit your opponents in matches won't take all day.

  • Decide how to deal with the Roman presence on the map and outmaneuver your competitors - will you choose trade or conquest?

  • Fulfill a variety of objectives to earn Crowns - the first player to reach the set amount of Crowns wins the match!

The Thrill Of Fresh Conquest Awaits!

Conquer provinces, expand your dominion, and immerse yourself in the drama of ancient Rome. Whether you focus on the grand scheme or individual battles - each mission, a fresh saga; each campaign, a new epic.

  • Campaigns: A string of solo challenges with overspanning objectives.

  • Multiplayer: Compete with other players in ranked and unranked matches.

  • Seasons: Aim for the top spots on the leaderboard and in additional dynamically generated Campaigns.

  • Custom games: Adjust the game to your liking - weight win conditions differently or even turn some of them off completely; give the Romans weaker or stronger presence; choose the map size from tiny to epic and decide for classic map borders or cylindrical wrapping.

  • You don’t have the time?: play by cloud and give each player up to 24 hours to make their turn.

It’s not a bad game, and I appreciate what it’s aiming for: a fast-paced 4X with streamlined mechanics that avoid being overly simplistic. The art style has a certain charm, and the varied victory conditions are both well thought out and refreshingly original. Unfortunately, some design choices get in the way of that intended speed. Unit movement is quite slow, making traversal feel sluggish even on tiny maps. To make matters worse, units block each other’s paths, which quickly becomes more frustrating than strategic. There’s also no “sleep” or “sentry” command—standard features in most 4X games—so you’re forced to cycle through every single unit each turn, even if you have no intention of moving them.

very nice turn-based strategy it can be called simplified civilization-like and simplified here doesn't means bad on the contrary it feels and plays very nice and comfortable and play sessions here is quick in contrast with originals civ-games also devs actively communicates with players and fixes reported bugs amazingly quick

For me, this game hits a really sweet spot between Historical Civ x 4X but with more of a casual sandbox feel. My favorite games in these genres are Old World, Endless Legend, but sometimes don't have the time or mental energy to grind through a long or complex game. For a $10 US game, there's a ton of variety, replayability, different faction abilities all wrapped in an aesthetically-pleasing art style, great details, solid music and sounds and buttery smooth animations and gameplay. Even the nested and auto-locking tool tips are here and well done! 2 minor suggestions: 1. Maybe include a "map tack" feature in future to help plan out cities, buildings, adjacencies and save tiles for future builds. 2. I noticed that when left-clicking a tile to highlight its terrain and possible available (locked or unlocked) improvements (farms, mines, etc). The "lock" icon is solid gray and opaque and almost totally covers the icon of the improvement underneath, requiring you to m...

it's weird. Like a civ light but if you know what you're doing you just snowball to victory pretty easily.

I have not seen a game that is as dumb as this one in ages. I understand that sometimes you need to simplyfy the game mechanics, but this goes way too far. All in all - do not try to buy it. Go for civilisation or something similar./

This is better than CIV 7 - albeit a more simplified game.

This game brings back memories from playing Civ 1 and 2, and that's a good thing. I enjoy that the game is easy to get into, but I'm sure as I keep playing, that I will face some hard challenges. :) The visuals of the playing board has an analogue quality that makes it very inviting. The music and sound effects really brings it together into a charming war you never want to leave.

A decent game overall with the best feature being the graphics. Have only played the tutorial but it does feel very slow compared to other similar games and one of the most annoying features I found is if you have a unit and the destination is more then one turn away then the next turn you still have to repeat the destination (therefore the unit dosent move by itself in that turn move). The scouts you cant send them on auto-discover route so you have to keep moving them. In your city their is no production building at first you can build so how do you proceed in gaining tools to make other buildings if you cant make them?? In the first mission of the tutorial you have certain tasks to achieve but only got a limited time (50 turns) to do all these quests and its actually a bit tough (could be just me finding it this way), you spend a lot of time ending the turn just to move your units. This game has potential loads of it and may try and play more of it but currently it dosent really ...
