for 99 cents I guess I can't really complain that much but it's VERY basic, EXTREMELY short, and going for higher ranks isn't really interesting enough to feel worth going for.

In itself, it's not a bad game. For 99 cents, it's great. It just suffers from the problem that all small games have in this category: the ranks. Reaching the A rank works well, but reaching the S rank is simply unfair in half the levels, and in two levels, it's even impossible without your fingers bleeding. For unknown reasons, small developers like this not only always have to implement a ranking system, but also make reaching the highest rank so difficult that it's disheartening. It's a shame, but for a single playthrough for 30 minutes, it's okay.

This game is so good for it's price, it's fun, engaging, and has barely any plot, making it a silly game that everyone can enjoy! 9.5/10

I'd give this a neutral rating if I could. I played through all stages and got all the stars and unlocked Macbat. Then I started playing through a few of the levels again as Macbat but once I realized I couldn't use that character to improve my times I also realized I wasn't really having fun. The idea of speed-running the levels over and over again to try to get S ranking didn't appeal to me. I assume that's how you unlock the 3rd character, but I didn't even care enough to try looking it up. Can't complain much for $1. It's not a bad game. But I did everything I wanted to do in under 40 minutes and it had no replay value for me. My one real complaint is that even with the camera sensitivity turned all the way up I felt the camera was moving too slow for me to be able to quickly point it in the direction I wanted it to face. So I ended up just using the "snap camera to direction I'm facing" button all the time instead. Also, it's not obvious from the store page, but when the game s...

Honestly, sorry to say this, but anyone who tell that this is the only good modern Sonic game is objetively wrong, I mean the timing of obstacles are just not there, even if you are perfect in the way the game want you to be it still blocks your flow in awful ways anyway, not challenging ones, plus enemies and their patterns are very repetitive and boring and the vent that generate wind from below you are also so slow to lift you up to keep an interesting flow. I mean look at the videos of people getting S rank without a bug or a glitch and you will see that's true. Even putting aside the Sonic games, there are way better budget games that are difficult but where you can have a great flow if you play perfectly, one of the firsts that comes to mind being Lunistice as an example, but even older ones than both games
