I do not recommend this game, lol. I really want to be nice, but this game is not it. I think what primarily makes me feel this way is the price. This game is worth $5. If it was 5 dollars I wouldn't care as much. But when you are comparing this to Enter the Gungeon one of my favorite games of all time, it really falls short, especially since that game is the same price. The game economy is hard, but it is what it is. This game just feels very empty, unpolished, and feels like it needs a reason to exist. Why am I doing anything in this game? The process to get to that point isn't that good either. I hate games where I can go to the boss whenever. The tutorial is awful, and you can't skip it. The game needs to be much more snappy, everything just feels very clunky, not fluid, and just not great. The UI's are terrible. For a game that was claimed to be made over 5 years, this is really lackluster... I want to be nice, so I will say you tried, I have not made a game yet, so I cannot say...

About This Game
Slimekeep is a fast paced action roguelike with a heavy emphasis on decision making and player freedom. Adventure through procedurally generated levels, in a quest to stop the spread of corruption created by the Slime King. You'll have the choice to fight or capture slimes, visit the Slime King's lair, or hold off another day, and so much more. Think Enter the Gungeon meets Slime Rancher, with additional unique mechanics, and elements.
Unique Combat:
In Slimekeep, every slime will grow over time. You can decide between letting slimes grow for more resources, at the cost of them becoming more powerful. Or, if you'd like, kill off the slimes early, providing less resources, but making for an easier, and less risky fight. All of this with an array of over 80 unique weapons and upgrades.
Slime Pet:
If you'd like to take a more passive route to combat, you can capture slimes with a specially crafted capture gun, capable of extracting essence out of slimes, which can be used to upgrade your slime pet. Choose one, or many paths to build your slime pet around, from brute to assassin to specialty. Craft your slime pet to transform from a simple helper to a full-blown slime destroying machine.
Bosses:
Slimekeep contains a cast of 5 unique bosses. Battle against mechs, samurais, or DJs. Each boss is carefully crafted with unique art, animations, attacks, and gimmicks to create a real challenge. And to beat the game, all you have to do is defeat the dreaded slime king, in which you can visit at any time. Sounds simple, right?

User Reviews
Very neat roguelike! Found this game through one of the game dev log videos on YouTube and wishlisted it to support the dev, eventually bought it and played it a bit. Its a lot of fun! I loved the random minigames sprinkled throughout and the design of the bosses is stellar. The gameplay loop can get a bit repetitive considering that "the build" you are going for is less dictated by "the run" but more so by the upgrades you decide to choose from back at the base. $15 might be a bit steep for the amount of content, but if its on sale and you are a fan of twin stick shooters and roguelikes, for sure purchase it!
