Full disclosure: I'm not a racing guy. I'm not a car guy, even. My extent of car knowledge begins and ends at "vroom-vroom go that way." But that's all you need to know for this game. I can tune the holy bejeezus out of a million sliders that mean absolutely nothing to me, or I can just equip a premade setting by someone who does and suddenly the vroom-vrooms are *better*. Not sure when to brake or start a turn? Easy, there's a friendly line. Follow the line, make less vroom-vrooms when it's red, everything's gravy. Don't have the reaction time to follow the line? You can slow the game down until it's at a pace where you can. Incredible. You can be as serious as you want with it. Me, I'm taking my van that's dolled up to look like the Mystery Machine and ramping it off a volcano.

This is a game for profoundly damaged minds, hyperstimulating malicious design everywhere. Every 2 seconds some gambling mechanic gets shoved in your face or some intrusive thing flashes on the screen begging you for your attention. The tragedy here is that underneath all of that exhausting crap there's a really good core. The driving physics are fun and there are plenty of cars and game modes in a pretty good world, the game just can't seem to get out of its own way for long enough to let you enjoy that. It's like when a really attractive person is super insecure and gets a bunch of plastic surgery that makes them look like a total freak. What a shame. Also they sold a car pass then decided they wanted to squeeze players for even more money so they just made up some arbitrary new way to sell them without honoring the car pass. That was super dishonest and scummy. Forza Horizon 5 feels like it was made by skilled designers who actually cared, but then it was irreparably tainted by e...

I'm a 43 year old male who suffers from moderate to severe depression and I swear when I'm feeling really down and lost this is the only game I can stay interested in for several hours. There's just something about it that makes me temporarily forget all the darkness and keeps my mind distracted for a little while. Forza Horizon 5 can be easy, it's relaxing, and if you've got the right hardware, it can look really good. Yes, a lot of the dialogue can be very cringe worthy. But honestly I find that part of the game's charm. There's just something overly positive about it's attitude and the way the game wants you to feel like this big racing festival in Mexico is your second home. It's a good game. It may not affect you in the same ways it has me, but it makes me happy to just drive a few laps and forget the outside world for a while.
This game could be good, but when you're published by this kind of studio, you can't expect to get only positive reviews.

Gameplay:
With events becoming ever more stupid and pointless, this studio isn't trying to reach an audience over 20 years old. The gameplay was good when the game came out. I played it for over 300 hours and enjoyed it, but between the rotten events and the disappearing save files, it's no longer possible to play this thing. The backups suddenly disappeared and X-box didn't give a damn. After struggling for several weeks to recover my backup, I didn't get anything back. They gave me money and the cars I had won or bought as DLC, but nothing else. They really thought I was like them and that all I cared about was money. I wanted to get back my paint schemes, my customs on hundreds of cars, all the tracks I had created... But nothing... Xbox is not recommendable. And so this game is no longer.
If you like Racing games, come and discov...

Ok first I bought this sort of by accident, mixed it up with F:H4. But I played a few minutes and thought I'd give this one a shot. The few minutes I played were really good. I do the character creator, watch the cutscene and then it's time to pick my car and make a license plate. I went with "lol bye". Except no I didn't because for some dumb f**king reason, this game thinks one or both of those are offensive. Good luck figuring out which, because the game doesn't tell you. What the actual hell is happening to gaming? Uninstalled and refunded. lol bye.

I was really excited to play this game since I enjoyed FH4 quite a bit, and waited a while for it to go on sale. As I unfortunately learned after some attempts at fixing it, this game has a bug on all nvidia gpus that forces it to crash roughly every 30 minutes on the dot. Now while you CAN fix this by rolling back the nvidia driver version all the way to 561.09, you'll often need a newer version to play other newer games, making you pick between this game or those (or having to run DDU every single time you wanna play a game). The choice came, and I chose other games. I strongly recommend against this game in its current state unless you have an AMD gpu. The developers told me to try disabling my firewall lmao

This game has enough positive reviews that despite me liking it I feel completely comfortable giving it a negative one given the insane tutorials. I'm 3.5 hours in and I'm STILL getting unskippable cutscenes.

I wanted to enjoy this game so much, but it so boring, my eyes fell asleep during the game. The maps are empy The races are easy. The story is dog shit with annoing narrations, and constantly pausing the game to talk about "how beatiful Mexico is". Let the player enjoy the beauty and don't shove it up my throat. Forza Horizon 4, in contrast was amazing. Beatiful landscapes, and cities to explore, with awsome terrains that changes during seasons.
