Very good fps metroidvania. excellent aesthertics, surprisingly catchy exploration, this was way better than I expected. It's still lo fi diy jank, but it's the best kind of that :P 8.5/10 my review scale : anything below 5/10 is bad - 6 /10 = fine - 7/10 = good - 8/10 = exactly what it's trying to be - 9/10 excellent - 10/10 perfect - 11/10 they went above and beyond - 12/10 keeps finding new levels of incredible -13/10 revolutionary stuff

Interesting story and atmosphere right up until the ending where it turns into generic anime garbage. Music was okay. Boss battles were promising but became boring and easy after the arena one with the whores. Combat in every other boss fight and in the world as a whole was very uninteresting. There was a lot of backtracking as part of the main plot too. The areas that you had to go back through didn't have any new enemies to fight so it was a lot of going back and forth doing nothing. With no voice lines the hard to read font really takes away from the story. I understand that the whole thing is supposed to emulate an old game but there was no reason an easier to ready font couldn't have been done.

i'm biased because metroid prime is on my top 3 favorite games but this felt like such a loving homage in all the best gzdoom ways. the crude artistry fits the decrepit atmosphere of the world, and it blended perfectly with the gameplay to make an awfully engaging little title! cant wait for more
