Pretty low quality game. Would not recommend. Spelling mistakes, obvious missing UI buttons. Unbalanced gameplay. In 3rd and 4th rounds, you are just constantly clicking 30+ times to upgrade your units as you roll and buy upgrades over... and over...and over again. Missed opportunity here. Worth about 3 hours of gameplay before it goes stale.

Outcasts of Orion is an autobattler roguelike combining a solid game loop and varied strategic potential to offer an engaging experience with much replayability. You draft from a variety of randomly presented abilities and units to craft your squad and discover unexpected synergies. The game does struggle a bit early on in conveying the appeal of its mechanic, but given some time, it reveals an underlying layer of depth that keeps you coming back. If you are a fan of either autobattlers or strategy roguelikes, this game is worth giving a shot. ------------------------------------------------------ At its core, Outcasts of Orion plays as an autobattler with positioning as the central focus. Each unit has a defined pattern of attack and behavior that can be predicted and taken advantage of. Similar to chess, it is key to know your own unit's compatibility with others and to think a few turns ahead to emerge victorious. Early parts of the game start with a basic rock, paper, scissors typ...

Outcast of Orion is a fun little game with new and cool mechanics. The game art isn't anything crazy, but the animations are sleek and it has a 80's grunge charm to it. The UI wasn't as clear as I'd like, but it is something that can be patched in later. For the price I dig the experience.

Fantastic game, if you like auto-battlers it really scratches the itch. The art is neat and the music really works with game. I'm not too far in but I'm loving it so far.

I've come back to add, this game has more layers and depth than I originally imagined it may be "feigning". On the flip side, the enemy formations are a little limited. There is deviation from the standard, but buy in large, there are a few standard formations you will find them in. That said, for the price point, what you are getting is more than fair from where I stand, and the developer seems to be active on the boards, and they seem to be keeping an eye on this game and keeping it in a good state. I picked it up on a whim hoping it would be similar to Gladiator Guild Manager, and it kind of is. (Yes, that game isn't out yet, but played the prologue) There are shops where you buy units and equipment and whatnot, and it is an auto battler. I'm not sure yet if this will actually be a deeper experience, or if it merely feigns it, but instead of just setting up your units kind of wherever on the field like in most auto battlers, there is a grid system, and the units and hud i...

Overall: Fun auto-battle rogue-like. Focuses on positioning based strategy and randomized rogue-like progression. Plays like Into the Breach if all strategies happened on the first turn. Pros: Strategic Variety + A variety of unit types offer a variety of characters to craft your squad + Run defining artifacts opens opportunities for powerful synergies + Equippable items and unit leveling allow for greater customization Replayable + the randomized encounters makes each run unique + Factions and Heroes drive different strategies to discover Quick Runs + Quick runs to immediately devise and test strategies + Good for picking up and getting directly into the game Cons: Learning Curve - Not initially intuitive, took a good run or two before the game clicked - tutorial could be improved Missing some quality of life features If you are new to the genre, it may come across as confusing at first but I urge you to stick to it, and the game will soon show what its about...

Good a solid auto-battler with clear rules and some interesting mechanics. Art is somewhere there. I have beat it in less than 4 hours. Totally worth it.
