I Swear to god if someone bought the definitive edition games to play this one specifically, holy moly you must be retarded. This is one of the worst games i've ever played. The remastered textures are okay, the game misses the old dirty/grunge atmosphere. The cars slide everywhere like they're fucking karts. The shooting is okay i guess. You have to change cars every 2 minutes because of all gangsters shooting at you which is just annoying and a pain in the ass, also the city is overpopulated. The game is really and i mean really bad optimized. Rockstar just wanted some more gold on their pockets, shit ass company. Hope San Andreas isn't like this

Everyone still looks like plastic, there are still no checkpoints even though it says restart from checkpoint when you fail a mission, no replays so most cool speedrun strats are just dead and it still has terrible optimization. Just pirate the original games, get an autosave mod, a quicksave mod if you want, throw in some graphics mods and you have yourself a way better definitive edition that actually has the authentic feeling unlike this disaster.
It's weird playing this in high quality, but really enjoyable. I don't understand the bad reviews. It's still a great experience.
This game is damn broken maaan! Especially the Phone Call Missions! And that is wild coming out from a game that came out from the early 2000s Atleast fix the damn game if yall gonna remaster it
One of the worst games I've played, every two shots to your car and you explode, every bot doesn't know how to drive normally, and the cops are generally terrorists who hit you at full speed. Don't buy this game !!! , unless you're retarded like me who wants to play the entire GTA series.
The starting point of the modern GTAs, GTA3 was revolutinary in 2001, but in 2025, the game struggles, while some missions are fun, others are overly hard, the open world is hardly exploreable due to enemy gangs, and character custimazation hardly exists, many things dont make sense in the story a 5 out of 10 for me
If you are nostalgic for early 00s and GTA 3, or you wanna just experience a piece of the gaming history, I can recommend. But this if still a remastered game from 2001, so if you want some casual fun, you might consider more. GTA 3 Def can be enjoyable, if you tolerate that it isn't a modern game.
This game is feels like playing a prototype of an actual game. It lacks many of the essentials you would come to expect in this day an age. However, it is my first time playing and the game has not crashed on me once so I have to recommend it.
The redeeming thing about GTA 3 are the radio segments and music (restored with mods). Apart from that, it stands more as a piece of video game history more than an actually fun experience in the modern age. It's fun-bad sometimes, excruciating most of the time. The horrible physics, crazy AI, surface-level mission design and lack of checkpoints make GTA 3 hard to like more than a rough symbol of the past to anyone unbiased by nostalgia. 4/10
GTA III: Definitive Edition is like digging up a legendary crime classic… and realizing the remaster feels like someone smeared Vaseline on Liberty City, then forgot to iron out the bugs. You play as Claude, the silent protagonist with the emotional range of a microwave, carving a bloody path through Liberty City’s mobsters, crooked cops, and people who really hate traffic lights. Back in 2001, this game revolutionized open worlds—now, it’s the awkward uncle at the reunion: still iconic, but kinda rough around the edges. The Definitive Edition promises updated visuals, but what you actually get is a weird mix: shiny puddles, cartoony faces, and lighting that sometimes makes Liberty look like a plastic model kit. Performance? Let’s just say you’ll experience “bullet time” whether you want it or not. That said, underneath the jank, the core game is still brilliant. The radio stations remain some of the funniest in gaming, the missions balance chaos with dark humor, and...
