About This Game

Citizens from either side of an ongoing war must set aside their differences as a mysterious alien invasion threatens humanity – time has come to a stop for all but your small band of freedom fighters. Caught in a seemingly endless loop, you must shape these ordinary civilians into heroes as they repeatedly fight and die in this turn-based tactical roguelite. Real-time exploration, stealth, and teamwork are essential as you acquire new skills, seek out more powerful weapons, escape the time loop, and save the world. Welcome to the resistance!

Countless lives hang in the balance, frozen in time as the alien Rifters seek to harvest the world’s resources. Your group of three have somehow escaped that curse, only to suffer something worse – every time they die, time resets. Or so it seems.

 • Take on a variety of mission types to thwart the alien invaders – shut down their harvesters, defuse their bombs, and take out their occupying troops to gain the skills you need and secure victory. Will you attempt secondary objectives to save other civilians at the risk of losing your progress? Or will you sacrifice the lives of those frozen in time in the interest of advancing towards your ultimate goal? With every new time loop, newly acquired experience and skills remain, and with every death, your band of civilians turn into hardened war veterans.

 • Explore the multiple districts of your wartorn city, seeking out weapons stashes and uncovering hidden equipment that will better prepare you for what comes next. Anything you discover in one loop is available to you from the start of the next, fundamentally changing your approach. Use more advanced weapons, modifications, and gear to defeat the enemy more handily, in turn gaining access to even more powerful tools of the trade.

 • Take on the Rifter leaders in challenging boss battles that place your fighters on the back foot. Harder to kill, heavily armored, and dangerously armed, these leaders hold the key to this war – every time one falls, the time loop shifts forward, bringing the forever war closer to an end.

War is unforgiving and relentless, and every opportunity must be taken to secure the upper hand. Your tactical prowess will be put to the test when the bullets start to fly – armed and positioned appropriately, allies can work closely together to assist one another, interrupt enemy movements, and bring about a quick end to challenging circumstances.

 • Study the enemy you’re facing, sneak around the battlefield to obtain an optimal position, and seek out any opportunities to use the world around you to your advantage.

 • Take direct control of every shot as you aim down the sights, find where your target is weakest, and unleash a hail of bullets. Hit chances are determined entirely by your positioning, your aim, and your reaction time, with ballistics taking firing angles and obstructions into account as your targets run and duck for cover. Will you trust your aim with a sniper rifle, spray and pray with a submachine gun, or get up close and personal with a trusty shotgun?

 • The action never stops as your resistance fighters can react to both friend and foe across turns on either side, beyond their usual action point limits. Every individual has access to unique reflex actions to intercept enemy movement and assist allied kills, or to scramble away from enemy fire. Will you reserve your reflexes for defensive maneuvers when things take a turn for the worse, or will you use them to apply constant pressure on the enemy?

The arrival of the Rifters brought the world to a standstill, but life goes on for your fighters. Uncover their checkered pasts as they learn to work together. Unveil the mystery of the alien invaders and their control over time as you fight through the streets of a once-beautiful city to reveal the full truth about the war. Your resistance grows stronger with each success, and with each failure – after all, death is only the beginning.

Positive: Good writing on the world building. We haven't seen this kind of story in this genre of game yet. I really appreciated the new, interesting twists, that almost balanced out my biggest problem with the game. Great combat, excellent complexity and trade offs for commonly cheesed mechanics (cough OVERWATCH cough), good balance to difficulty as new enemy types are introduced and new mechanics are unlocked through story progression. This might be a worthy bandaid for the XCom shaped hole in your heart. Negative: Main characters are dispassionate, uninteresting and uncharismatic. The designs are ugly and unappealing, and it's hard to motivate myself to boot into the game. I just don't care about these frumpy, sexless, middle aged jerks who seem to hate and distrust each other. This is the biggest failing of the game, the humanity and emotional elements. I don't like the Metroidvania style exploration, where you need to unlock game mechanics through story prog...

The concept of a roguelite turn-based strategy game is nice, but I feel like you have to repeat too much, which makes it a bit repetitive. Especially since from what I have heard, you never get to expand your squad, which is sad because it limits your ability to experiment with different classes. I wanted to play more, but I got softlocked by a bug (I can’t leave the sewers anymore) after about 1.5 hours of playing. The game definitely has potential, but it still needs some updates and polishing.

I just finished the game and can honestly say it has been a good experience. The flow was good, the turn based strategy layer was great and the exploration was fun, if a bit clunky. The things I'd look to improve are the camera, the save game situation, and the lack of a warning that triggering the final mission locks you out of all the other achievements in the game because you cannot return to the city.

Dubios gameplay decisions in order to artificially increase gameplay time: YES! Crippling bugs really early: YES Please get away from this roguelike style games, we do not care about how long the gameplay is. Procedurally generate missions for additional loot or anything in the between. You can do better!

Love Xcom 2 but hate this games attempt to use the tactics. Its way, and i mean way too hard. almost impossible to beat even with multiple attempts and a silly amount of deaths. They want you to die over and over again to level up and advance, but it fails in too many ways for me to keep playing it. It starts to become the opposite of fun and that turns into me wanting to delete the game, which is what I'm doing. I do not advise anyone to play it unless they make some major changes so you can actually beat it. If there was a dark souls version of xcom tactics, this is it. The only difference being that with some practice you can actually beat dark souls.

There are a lot of positive reviews. This game could be good in the future. I think people are reviewing it based on that. As it is, version .7 feels like an early beta. Lots of bugs, crashes, quality of life issues, imbalances, and additions to the core game play loop are needed. I just don't understand the amount of positive reviews there are when beating the first battle gives an achievement that only 52% of purchasers have earned. I want to like this game. It needs quite a bit of work to get there though.

I've just completed the game, so I have complete understanding of all aspects of the current state of it (it is still in Early Access at the time of writing which is late August, 2025). Long post, sorry, but worth reading, I hope. I have read some of the negative comments from other users, some of them I halfheartedly agree with like yes, the main characters are not sexy, they are 30+ and 40+ and they are not overly interesting either but these criticism are missing the main point: this game is about _average_ people who had nothing really special going on in their lives until the alien invasion, they are not celebrities, models, super soldiers so I think them having "average" looks, physical builds and capabilities is both forgivable and understandable. I will continue with the negatives since they are less in number: even though the world is detailed and well designed, it has still a lot of content repeating, like there are the same posters everywhere and the sam...

Concept, story and world building were great. Fun tactical game. Definitely recommend. At times though i felt it was very empty. No variety in characters or weapons. Enemies just became bullet sponges. It felt like there were many promises which were never implemented. Being early access still however, I hope they will provide more content for the game before its release.

Hard Yes. I`m a bit fan of the genre, and "Every day we fight" Brings a fresh, fun mix to the table. I enjoy the slow-motion tactical aim, and the much better implementation of aiming (compared to phoenix point). Another strong aspect thus far is the skill tree, which is meaningful! Still in the early acts, so not sure how good the endgame is, but so far, definitely worth my money and time.

Fun game with good story and interesting dialogue. As a fan of XCOM and Phoenix Point, I really enjoyed playing it. It has the humor of Jagged Alliance 3. Graphics are pretty good. Still some issues with movement and controller sensitivity to work out in early access. Some people are frustrated that certain things need to be "discovered" as the game progresses, but that's part of the appeal - and every good game changes a bit as it progresses to keep things interesting and give you new areas to explore.
