speedrunning game for non speedrunners, machine girl soundtrack alone is what makes this game worth buying but the gameplay is so addicting and fluid PLAY NEON WHITE!!!!!!!!!

glanced at this game while scrolling through my steam library and had the harrowing realisation I never glazed the fuck out of it in a steam review. absolutely incredible game, with gameplay that grabs your brain, paired with a soundtrack that tightens the grip and drags you into a deep trance. hitting your rhythm and flying through the levels is pure satisfaction. you get a drip-feed of new mechanics in each world to adapt to and then master, giving you time to get used to things before shaking it up to keep it fresh and exciting. by the end you have a whole array of cards to plot and speed your way through a level with. figuring out where to cut down on time, wondering if you can really execute the masterstroke of an idea you've just had, stitching cards together to flow from one movement to the next - fun fun fun. and it's just so gratifying in general to spend levels blasting away at demons. and, i mentioned it in passing, but the soundtrack really is a banger. it's like an adre...

I lowkey regretted buying this at first, but decided to give it a chance. I've been listening to this game's OST for years, and as a BIG machine girl fan, I wanted to finally check it out. The more I've played it, the more I've come to enjoy the gameplay and the characters. Great game! Do try it out if you're interested! ily Neon Red :3

It simply insists upon itself, more so than any indie game I have played recently. The writer(s) of this game, I can only imagine, are the most insufferable human beings alive. It's hard to enjoy even ironically, which is an achievement. You can just spam past all of the dialogue, but there is an absolute ton of it and a decent chunk of the game's content. The voice actors like Steve Blum are just there to attract potential sales, and he simply cannot carry this games story. It feels like a big budget hollywood movie that tries to convince people to watch by having a large A-list cast. It really means nothing. The gameplay is pretty fun for the first two chapters I would say, but it really starts to lose its luster fast. It doesn't really innovate on the gameplay loop enough, and the levels start to blend together. There isn't much room to get creative, it's pretty easy to get the highest rank on most levels, and getting the hidden gifts is braindead easy and just subjects you to mo...

this game is SO FUCKING GOOD, its at the same level as ghostrunner 1 for me, i wish it never ended. (the dialogue is so horrible its funny for me...)
