#Snake2 DX: Reawakening

No tutorial, stupidly chaotic, early 2000's style WTFLOLBBQ humour that isn't for everyone, and can be completed in 5 minutes. FYI the controls aren't mentioned in the game, you're thrown right into the action, so here: WASD or arrow keys: Movement Z: Open and close the hand X: Open and close the mouth C: Power Surge You might enjoy this game, you might not - it certainly wasn't for me.

Snake2 has been a long time coming and it is rare for a game like this to deliver so hard and be so excellent. I believe it started development back in 1998 right after Snake released on Nokia phones. For decades I waited, I bought hundreds of gaming magazines over the years in hopes of seeing some kind of update on how it was going or when it would be released. Oh how the developers used to talk it up, "Snake 2 is coming and it will BITE your socks off." Suffice to say: I NEEDED. SNAKE 2. I pre-ordered it right away. But the wait was agonizing. Years passed and I heard nary a peep about Snake 2 development. I became jaded, I felt betrayed, I never thought they would finish it, and if they did finish it there was no way it could live up to the pure vision and bombast of the original. It's super chaotic! Took a while to find out what the controls are but once I did I went destructo mode. If you like explosions and fast paced games, try this one out.

While I'm not an absolute whore for bullet hell games, this contribution to the genre gives a nice balance of briefness, challenge, and replayability (through its variety of both gamemodes and achievements), and has certainly captured my attention and praise. There are many things going in favor for this game: the crude, occasionally witty humor appeals to me and undoubtedly others who grew up in the golden age of YouTube Poops and LOLRANDOM humor. The gameplay is fast with no frills, and is extremely simple to control, and yet equally challenging, especially when going for certain achievements. The alternate gamemodes change your playstyle significantly, and the nearly-blank leaderboards this game sports makes for a very easy time dunking on scrubs online with your superior half-baked Snake2 skills!
