I’d only recommend this game to those feeling nostalgic for this game as there’s several problems with its gameplay. First and foremost, the combat is just not fun. This game attempts to be realistic by making bullets lethal in one to two shots, which is a good thing. However, this combines with classic AI issues meaning that some enemy AI will just laser lock you from render distance, and AI close quarters will target you through the walls and shoot you the moment you peek a corner. These deaths are PERMANENT. Making gunfights this difficult forces the player to abuse save states after every objective, if not every engagement. On the flip side, the AI is highly exploitable. Anytime you fire an unsuppressed weapon, it acts as a magnet for any enemies near you. So simply take up a defensive position with your squad and let off a round. Simply pick off the enemies as they show up and then clear the level of stragglers. The story writing is on par for 2001, it strangely predicted ...

One of my top picks from 2001. I don’t remember much since I was young, but I eventually managed to find it. I discovered it through a Computer Bild Spiele magazine, and it gave me countless hours of fun (and held my hand when mom cut off the internet for playing too much). Later, my favorite came in 2010 with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, which I got from the Computer Bild Spiele Gold edition. It’s a real shame it’s no longer on Steam, as it holds many great memories. https://imgur.com/a/30Qyete 🖤 ------------------------------------------------------------------ I couldn’t get the game to run at first. It would just close instantly. Managed to get it working by going to the installation folder (right-click the game in your Steam library, select Manage > Browse local files) and rename dbghelp.dll to dbghelp_old.dll. Hope it helps!

A superb tactical game. 15 missions where you control up to 3 fire teams, up to a max of 6 men. Each mission does something a different so the gameplay stays engaging throughout the campaign. I never played the game when it was first released but I'd say it aged remarkably well. Good controls, visuals, animations and audio (especially with EAX). A minor downside is that the AI and player weapons are all hitscan rather than projectile. There is no projectile travel speed, gravity, windage to take into account. This is my only real complaint based on personal preference.

Oh this games good. A weird middle ground of most "modern" milsim's and late 90-00's games. Feels similar to something like SWAT 4, have to be careful of your every move or else the enemies could just one tap you and make you loose your operator for the whole campaign(which is good for a tactical game like this), but the games basically looks life half life and allow you to quicksave and load, so you're pretty much free to experiment and do whatever you want without much backlash. Real nice tactical shooter if you don't feel like playing more intense stuff like arma, SWAT, RoN and the like, but still wanna do tacticool stuff with hawt retro equipment from the 90s.

Need more games like this in the current day, hardcore, unforgiving, makes you think about how to proceed, even when having to put the game down.

This is my old school game that I used to play in Windows XP. My uncle have that CRT Screen Computer at that time. I am very very fortunate that this game still exist and I am able to play it on my new hardware. Its a action packed shooter with realistic gameplay and mechanics. I still enjoy every moment of this game and every area from my heart. I just love it. Try it out and you won't be disappointed.

people who look at games like this and go "erm its old, i dont like it" because of the graphics are missing out big-time. I held off on getting this game for a bit, because i have Rainbow Six 3, and wondered if i would enjoy it as much, i think because it lacks view-models (If you're contemplating getting this, its not that bad when you get the hang of the game, and because of how tough the AI are, im pretty sure you'll be glad you can see the whole screen), but eventually got it on sale- by the way it goes on sale quite frequently so i would advise you to wait until a sale but i digress, and did NOT regret it, the campaign feels worthwhile, immersive and captivating, the atmosphere is heavy and the levels have a lot of replay value. Additionally, if you enjoy Rainbow 6 3, you will be happy to find this has a 'custom mission' system much like Rainbow 6, where you can play already completed campaign levels in either "assault" (terrorist hunt) or "recon" (kind of like lone wolf, ex...

I am confident that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® blew the scalp off of gamers in the early 2000s, which is why its memory is best left alone. With that said, the product is as dated as one would expect from an old, tactical shooter with A.I. (whether an ally or enemy) constantly cycling from braindead to superhuman sharpshooter in seconds. As one can guess, this disproportionately disadvantages the player as missions are full of enemies on the ground and above, and it only takes a single shot, or double tap, to kill. Mission-wise, 75%-100% of the level can be completed with one soldier (sniper), as teams require constant micromanaging. From moving forward to aiming, controlling teams makes the video game in its entirety feel halfhearted, taking on the characteristics of a real-time strategy game without the appropriate user interface or mechanics. Most enemies are in heavy cover and or on elevated ground, so most of the time one will find themselves sniping a few enemies ...
