This game is really fun for a short time, but then it becomes monotonous. Every dungeon is the same, every town is the same, every quest feels the same. Not enough variety to keep interest.

This game is in my wheelhouse, it's part of my favorite genre - so believe me when I say it needs more time in the oven. There are just too many irritating things, along with an overall lack of depth, that prohibits me from recommending this right now. Give it a few more years.

I've had trouble playing anything else since I've installed it. There isn't anything else to say. Try it yourself.

This game is simply amazing. It's a top-down, hardcore old-school RPG that delivers on all fronts. The combat is addictive, and the dungeon crawling is incredibly fun. I'm already hooked and can't wait to see what new content the developers release. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and just get it—you won't be disappointed.

The feedback I have to give, for now, is that I find the game too random. I like all the game mechanics, but unfortunately, the random factor is too strong, which almost turns a traditional roguelike RPG into a grinder, because we need to always be well above the levels of the main mobs to be able to kill them without relying on luck. I'm sorry, BUT Tales of Maj'Eyal, even after so much time, having more players MEANS something. Of course, one factor is that it's already a complete game and has more content, but there the progression is difficult and not strange, there is a logic and a balance behind things, very different from here. I've never seen a traditional RPG be a grinder; I find it very strange. For example, to kill the snake in Sagohai's basement, being at level 5 is impossible if it summons its copies, but just keep pressing F9 on the basement door and eventually it won't summon its snakes, and then it's easy to kill. To kill the Gremlin Boss, being at level 6, you need t...

Can't recommend for a multitude of reasons. - The main quest is incomplete and incredibly short for what is there - Enemies stack DoTs (bleed and poison) far too often, especially in the starting area. - Armour breaks too easily. - There is a weariness mechanic for when you're travelling the wilderness, which is fine, but towns are spread too far apart and if you don't have camping kits when travelling, you are screwed. At 100% weariness, you pass out and wake up surrounded by enemies. - Storage. I've only found one way to store anything and that's through your campsite, which you can only have with a kit. You can have multiple sites, but the storage isn't shared between them. There is too much tediousness for this to be fun for anyone who isn't masochist.

It's a good foundation and the game has the potential to be great, but at the moment it's a little bit lacking in content. Most of the dungeons feel the same and there's really not a whole lot of variety content-wise. This is more of a recommendation to wishlist it than to buy it in its current state.
