About This Game

Tower of Doom is a VR arcade shooter in which the player has to survive multiple waves of enemies in different levels. Each round the player gets to choose one out of four auto-generated guns in order to move up the highscoreboard and make it to the next stage.

Game Modes

Normal Mode:
You play each round in a new level with increasing difficulty. Before each round, you can choose an additional auto-generated gun, and in a mini-game you can regenerate your health and shields, upgrade your weapons and get back one of four energy impulses.

Arcade Mode:
You fight only in one level against never-ending waves of enemies. You have no way to regenerate your shields and only four energy impulses. Use them wisely. You can regenerate your health only through very high killstreaks. After every wave you can get one random gun.

Archery Mode:
You play each round in a new level with increasing difficulty. You have only a Bow and your Arrows and no way to regenerate your shields and only four energy impulses. You can regenerate your health only through very high killstreaks.

‘Tower of Doom’ is a wave shooter. What? You want more than that? Well..so did I! This game is as basic as wave shooters get. You get to pick one gun from the start from a random selection of 4 of them and then you enter a side mini-game in which you shoot neon cards for some reason, then you enter the arena. Here you will shoot a single wave of enemies until that wave is over, then you get to do the same thing over and over again. There is no story here, no challenge, seemingly no reason for doing any of it. The thing is graphically the game looks OK and it is clear someone has put a lot of effort into it, but for me there was no point to it, no fun and for a game that costs £11.39 I expect a LOT more content. Playing the same small rotation of levels and enemies over and over isn’t fun, it’s boring and repative. But if you enjoy that sort of thing maybe this game is for you. But it most certainly wasn’t for me. Oh…and by the way, this game is 2M SQ roomscale only as ther...

Edit - There is a game-breaking bug where the game does not register that all the mobs have been killed so youree left standing in the middle of an open map with nothing going on. The game has no pause or menu button so the only way to fix this bug is to restart the game through the VR menu etc. This bug happens mostly on the first level but it happens on others rarely. I have encountered it roughly 25% of my runs.

These other reviews are full of poo. Buy this.
Tower of Doom is a great arcade game. It would appear these other reviewers dont understand the mechanics of the game. (scroll to the end for gameplay tips and observations) Some mechanics: 1. Extra or unused guns can be placed on pedestals which turn them into turrets that shoot along side you during waves. 4 pedestals and 2 hands means 6 guns can be in play at any given time, and the pedestals display its current gun's stats so you can easily compare it to others. 2. Guns have a general level along side...

pretty sweet game! The guns kinda give me a borderlands vibe since they have rng stats/abilities. The enemies have a good amount of differences to them in appearance and types and there's even more types of guns. I really like how you can keep upgrading your weapon to make it last longer and that you have 4 weapon turret spots to place guns you want to keep or to put a new gun while you're working on upgrades for it. I think it has potential for lots more too! ( i'd love to see more boss or mini boss encounters.)

a great game of gun with a random attribute so every games looks differents the only thing i find unfortunate is we can not save the progress and guns we selected so if we love a gun particulary we have to win every time to keep this gun if we lost we will lost this gun and as it is random attribute we could not easyly have this gun again if not the graphism in looks bd are wonderfull even if we would love to see few anime characters we see in the wonderfull draws on the wall of the menu setting during the stages like the robots we can protect and wich can protect us but there is no human characters and i found the only non robots enemies less anime shading but anyway i recommand a lot this game a great game vr

Fun but lacking in content as of 7/30/21. pretty basic 360 degree wave shooter. You get to pick a new gun after every wave. Guns have special traits (Fire, poison, ice, ext...) I see potential for this game to be a lot better. As of now I would still recommend it as a time waster. As far as content there is just not a lot of it atm. Fun but very simple currently. It's a little over priced but not by much in it's current state.
