This game clearly highlights why Mahjong shouldn't be a match 3 game especially when the generated boards have zero matches at the beginning forcing you to use "powerups".

I am enjoying this one. To be fair, it seems to have no naughtiness, as promised, and if there is a patch I don't know where it is. Also the instructions are not in English, ack! I have figured out the core of the game and put up a guide. you might want to look at that before deciding if you want to buy this one. The levels can be difficult, and you do have to use your power-ups, but it seems like you start with two each with every girl, and every level has a few on the board so I rarely run out. The art is ok, and the music as well. A simple game, though not your standard match-two majong, be aware. Thumbs up. ADDENDUM: Really enjoying this one. It has two halves really, you play with each girl alone, then when you have beaten each one from 4-7 times depending on the level you have an arcade like section where you pick three (based on their special abilities) and play for high score. A surprising amount of game here.

Mahjong mixed with match-3, now that's an unusual combination. Has this mix worked out? Among the plethora of puzzle titles, this one stands out a little due to its unusual take on mahjong. I sure was not expecting match-3 when I first saw this game; well, it's surprisingly okay. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. In normal mahjong, you simply match two tiles to eliminate them, but here you need three. This sounds easy, but when you add the limit of seven tiles max in hand and the time limit, things become more tricky. Often stages begin with no visible matches to eliminate, making it impossible to beat a stage without the special items. You start with 2 of each: - bomb(destroys same tiles) -return(returns tile back to board) -magnet(take any visible tile) -reveal(show a covered tile) -time(replenish the timer) -shuffle(random board shuffle) You can obtain more items by matching special tiles or from some character's ability. Speaking of which, there are several...

This desperately needs a tutorial for people who are new to Mahjong in general, & the basic instructions are not in English. I was expecting 'MahjongSchool' to be for beginners/newcomers, & this definitely is not. The art is mid. The game has received no updates for 2 years, so none of this is going to improve. It's abandonware at this point
