Not just "another soulslike". Extremely fun and well made. Even before their 2.0 update. People gave it a harder time because of how close it actually felt. GJ devs on making something so fun and co-op friendly. Tbh, the co-op friendliness absolutely won this game in my heart even after the game itself was doing pretty damn good. If I consider Dark Souls 3 the 10/10 of games like it, this one would be an 8.5 or 9 out of 10. And I usually rate games towards the 4/10-6/10 range.

A new user interface is cleaner and easier to navigate, while you can now also disable the HUD for a more immersive experience or use the dynamic HUD setting, where it fades in and out based on gameplay.
Improved Tutorial Experience
The updated tutorial offers clearer, more intuitive instructions. Additionally, a new in-game guidebook means you can reference previous prompts at any time throughout your adventure.

User Reviews
Was cool at the beggining. The aesthetics, the story, the ability to shift in and out of the different planes. But after some progression, the path to the other red beacons for cleansing was not clear at all. Have to do a lot of backtracking to find out where to go. The ability to see the correct path via moths broke. Either the moths went straight down, or they did not appear at all. And instead of having a normal map, you get some crude paintings with arrows, which look like trasure hunt clues in other games. Second major gripe with the game is that the deathly plane of existence makes everything look the same, no matter in which area you are. I primarely travel in the normal plane so that I can enjoy different settings and environments and avoided the other plane, because it made everything look the same. There are some other minor bugs, like dog enemies being stuck on terrain while trying to run towards you, but not really a big deal.
Epic Games Store exclusive for the sequel, don't give them money then. Epic already gave them enough it seems.
Based devs turned this game around, listened to the community, and made something GREAT!
Great game will recommend it. However CI games decided will be a good idea for Lords of the Fallen 2 to be epic exclusive and the down vote for this review is due this decision alone, i can confidently say wont buy it so. Au Revoir!
Even after version 2.0, this game was still a pretty mediocre entry in the genre. And now the sequel is going to be an EGS exclusive? Well, no EGS exclusive has ever been successful. If the devs are so desperate for money, they can take it from Epic, not from the players.
After few patches, the game can be playable but the system and mechanic too mid
Very good game . However they turned to the dark side and sold out to epic. Ive been a gamer since day 1 . and so has Gabe the founder of steam over the years he has shown his loyalty as a gamer first.the devs here have chosen their side and proven that the customer comes last like most modern businesses. for this reason i express my opinion here.Epic has continued since the beginning with unethical businesses practices muscling in with dirty tricks.as said before im gen-x and we are a generation who have strong morals. im sure that the gen-z are going to award me many clown awards for my opinion which just makes me laugh they accept all kinds of dis-favourable business practices bc they missed the golden days of gaming and dont know any better. so my final verdict is this is a good game if you can get it for a good sale price why not. but just be aware your encouraging devs that are here for the money only ,not for the love of gaming. i would not have bought this game if i had known t...
Still generic and floaty combat. atrocious lvel desing. umbral gimmick gets tiring fast. lacks enemy variety. 6/10. While a improvement from launch it still sucks
Heard Horrendous things about this game at launch. Steered clear until a bro invited me on the free friends pass after 2.0 patch....I would recommend this to anyone looking for a slightly easier souls experience that still has all the other vibes going for it. It's quite fun in co-op. I think for anyone who is intimidated by souls games, this game is a more forgiving on-boarding experience. It is not perfect but it is absolutely solid value for its price, even more so when it's on sale.
