Decline's Drops

Typing and playihg this fo, from a Staem Decl, gudgame, definitely recommend since (unlike the Steam Deck's keyboard), it works super well on the go! Humble and pretty little game from a humble dev and small grassroots-vibe community. Everything on the OST is study-playlist-worthy, too. 4/5 in my books, and it only gets better w/every update!

Great game overall, though I think that many areas and levels could do with a bit of polish. The story is simple, but works well, especially the mirror story, The art is perhaps the best part, as every character is wonderfully drawn and expressive, and there isn't a single frame that doesn't look excellent. The music ranges from fine to very good, and always fits the context well. The combat and movement are smooth and feel good to control for platforming, though in combat I think Globule feels a little clunky at times. As well, Globule performs very poorly when enemies are above her, and it can feel annoying to combat any of the many enemies that sit above you out of reach only to drop/shoot/dive at you from above. The phials are an interesting idea, but I never felt compelled to take any besides the "extra drops" which I think could do without the x2 damage taken, and the "double health" phial, since I never wanted to forego my specials or smash attacks to power up the other. I very much enjoyed my time with Decline's Drops, and am excited to dig into the new content that was added recently. Everything feels really fun and snappy, with tough as nails boss fights and tons of fun combos to pull off, but it all still feels really cozy, its nice :3

Fantastic game that wears its inspiration on its sleeve but still offers something unique and wholly itself. I'm not a fan of Smash at all but I thoroughly enjoyed Decline's Drops, there's not really another game out there offering something like "Subspace Emissary" besides this, and, well Brawl itself. Some minor issues I have are a lack of way to disable screenshake, the cannons & planes in W4 being really obnoxious with their SFX, and Wyrre & Sucidem needing some/better tells (or in case of Sucidem's clap, any tell at all). But these are minor compared to the rest of the game, which is incredibly solid and entertaining. Soundtrack also goes absurdly hard, love the 2nd theme in Webbing Waves.

A delightful platformer with incredibly good game feel. Actually feels like you're playing an adventure mode in a Smash Bros game, but as a whole game in and of itself. Reminds me a lot of old flash platformers, but with exponentially more polish
