What We Pretend To Be

I've been putting up a smile and wearing a mask though I'm so tired of it, I'm tired of smiling and acting as if I'm okay when I'm broken inside. Just so you know I'v cried in the showers so no one can hear me many times. I was working 17 hours a day, making ten times the money I needed to survive, and depriving myself of doctors’ appointments, food, and other necessities out of fear of seeing the number in my bank account go down. “How do I stop?” I asked. And then he said something that really rang true: Trying to stop working so much or saving so much money probably won’t work. But when I feel better about myself, I’ll naturally do those things – because I won’t rely on work or money for my value. That’s when I realized why I can’t stop torturing myself to gain things I don’t need or benefit from: I don’t have an identity outside my achievements or my money. This game was called "relaxing," but I found this game quite boring after 10 minutes. The price is to high for what content you get out of this game.
