This game's a lot of fun, and you get a lot of bang for your (literal) buck!! Lost Caves is a cute pixel-art platformer that will remind you of old-school 8-bit adventure games like Pitfall, Montezuma's Revenge, and Spelunker, but it extends that formula to include multi-layer parallax scrolling, tight controls, and catchy chiptune music that appropriately sets the mood for each level. There are some very thoughtful design elements that help to avoid the need for a tutorial -- for example, collectible items and coins are often arranged to help you time your jumps, icons like a "hieroglyphic floppy disk" identify elements like save points, and each cavern has a progress meter at its entrance/exit so you can get a sense of many of the available treasures are yet to be collected. The various puzzle elements are clever, and the controls don't get in the way of timing your jumps or dashes correctly. It's a great game, and for only a dollar, there's no question you'll get a huge return in en...

About This Game
Lost Caves takes you through 4 expansive, labyrinth-like levels, filled with over 80 unique treasures in nearly every corner. The more treasure you collect, the more rich you become, and the more rich you become, the further you can explore into these caves! Be careful though, because down here, you aren't alone, and you most certainly aren't welcome...

This game is just FUN. LOL Still figuring out the ins and outs of it.
The "Master Mind-Numbing" Achievement is one of the worst things I've ever had to do in a video game. True to its name, it is excruciatingly tedious and actively wastes the player's time as much as it possibly can. Why would you even include something like this in your game if you know it's terrible? Besides that one Achievement, Lost Caves is a competent and (mostly) enjoyable little platformer that reminds me of "The Great Cave Offensive" from Kirby Super Star mixed with the aesthetics of an Amiga-era platformer. If this sounds up your alley then definitely pick it up as it's worth its meager price and a normal playthrough doesn't take very long. Just be warned that you'll be in for a VERY boring time if you decide to go for all the Achievements, and you will never get those many, many lost hours of your life back.
A fun, well-refined platformer taking gameplay notes from Cave Story and Kirby Super Star's Great Cave Offensive, alongside other retro titles. Featuring very in-depth level designs to explore and a banger soundtrack, Lost Caves is a surprisingly in-depth and enriching experience (pun intended).
This game is pretty neat. A nice, charming spelunking experience. Definitely looking forward to playing more and getting to the end of the game!
Captures the simple pleasures of platforming and exploring from a bygone era. The scale allows you to see the possibility space of the area around you and start building a map in your head, and you'll need to since the game won't be gifting you one. I was constantly curious and forming possible connections in my head about how the areas I could see through walls and under floors could connect together in the future.
Lost Caves is super fun! Really enjoying the puzzle aspects and the music, would highly recommend!!
this is exactly the kind of game that keeps me combing through games on steam i recommend

Short & sweet exploration platformer. Has a nice handcrafted feel. Great value.
