It plays both sides' moves so quickly that 15 moves fly by in just a few seconds making it nearly impossible to memorize the sequence. Also, the interface is awful, with no way to exit from the main screen and no options such as move speed, forward/back controls, etc. In order to learn just one opening, I had to replay the unskippable animations and moves dozens of times from the main menu. The author is not a real programmer, clearly.

Moves a bunch of pieces around the board very quickly without giving you much time to take in what is happening on the board, nor explaining why, tells you it's a popular move (which one? all of them? black or white?). Then demands you "Find the BEST move!". Well that depends doesn't it? What am I trying to achieve? So I start moving what 'I think' is the best move. Nope, that was wrong and it doesn't mind telling you in no uncertain terms. I try another. Wrong again! Only this time i'm being patronised. WTH?! Instead of berating me for getting it wrong, tell me what my objective is and explain why moving a certain piece is preferable over moving another. I might actually learn something useful within Chess and not what a waste of oxygen I am. Best way to gain a complex or to learn how to hate yourself. It would seem I have lots to learn. Maybe in time it will make more sense.

"sticks and stones may brake my bones but words can never hurt me" does not apply here. LOL The good ol´ mad bot from motherland continues to kick my a**... Deep concentration isn´t enough to escape from traps. The game continues to amuse me! GG

Like some others have said, the presentation is sparse. I can't stand the looped music on Ruy Lopez and Noah's Ark, everything else I've tried so far is "hm, okay". If you expect this to be a "Chess for Dummies", then the first few tries of Ruy Lopez will disabuse you of that notion in a hurry, unless you're already really good. In which case, you probably won't buy this game. But for the rest of us new-to-chess players, it's a fun, if somewhat brutal way to "get good or get lost". Pros: * You get to learn about 19 different openings, and if you can remember your way through them, you may actually become a better player. If you're like me and barely know your pins from your forks, then this won't be an easy ride. Cons: * Man, I wish the sound effects could be left in but have that backing track in Ruy Lopez just muted. * Not enough sarky comments from the bot. * No help given as to what would happen directly after your less-than-optimal move, just a "Nyet" or worse. * The "close" but...

A funny way to practice your chess skills. This series is a great idea, and an installment on chess openings is very opportune. Hope more is coming!

I was seriously and very pleasantly caught off guard by this one. VERY recommended for chess amateurs and veterans alike, it'll teach you some chess opening concepts and present you with situations that'll help you think 2-3 moves in advance and hopefully improve your board vision and playstyle, definitely the kind of thing every chess enthusiast should look into. Solid thumbs up from me.
