It's just flash cards...and it's broken. If you are trying to learn a random set of cards, it will be random (although I'm not sure it's really random yet and you can't choose which cards they are). However, when you get to the end of your set of cards, the game defaults to another random set of cards, and it's always the same set. So you are stuck learning the same set of cards every time you play. For instance, out of the 100 cards from a category, if you choose to only use 10 of them, it will only cycle through the same 10 every time you play after finishing the first cycle. You also can't go back to a previous card. You also can't mark a card as learned or need help with in our to adjust priority of how often it appears. It seems the developers ran out of time and just released the game in an unfinished state. It's also disappointing that this game doesn't have much to do besides flash cards. The quiz portion is just flash cards with multiple choice. You're better off using what is...

HOW IT WORKS
The information pages will teach you the basics of the language and guide you on how to use the game to begin learning Japanese. The first step in learning Japanese is understanding the character sets (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji) and memorizing the symbols and words. This game contains all Hiragana and Katakana, common Kanji, and common words. Using Flashcard mode, you can begin to memorize the character sets and once you feel confident enough, can test your retention using quiz mode. There is also a review mode to view individual characters and words.

I personally feel this application is more of a bank of words, rather than an effective study tool. There are websites that I use that helped me such as Real Kana and quizlet that is simply more polished to work with. If there are going to be more updates, these are things that should be considered to implement. 1. Key inputs during quizzes I feel the lack of typing the answer kind of loses my motivation to answer more than 10 questions. I personally think it would be a more engaging experience if I am able to type these key inputs. It really gives off of a personal competitive vibe that brings the experience on a new level 2. Customization for flashcards. Obviously if you are doing flashcards, it is almost essential to have a "custom" list depending on what you want to learn. Although there is a looping system, it doesn't really help since you don't choose what cards you want to study. The only method I found is by missing them on purpose and then practice the ones you missed. 3. P...
Nice flashcard game/app. Didn't run into any issues or errors from what I played. Had stroke order, pronunciation, and a meaning for each character. Obviously this means it's not overly comprehensive (you can't practice speaking or writing in app either) but it works.
Great app! Wouldn't take class at City College if this app published earlier.
This is a great Supplementary tool to use hand in hand with my notes, and Udemy course. My only wish is that the controls are explained to make it easier to use
