After completing game on the hardest difficulty I have very negative opinion about this game. It is absolutely not worth the price. You can say - but you spent so many hours in this game. Yes I did! I am huge fan of this genre, and even if this is the biggest crap in the world, I will complete it! So, why it is so bad? Here is couple of examples I can't accept: - there is almost no difficulty spikes. All levels have the same gimmick, and you won't be introduced to new challenges - game is extremaly not polished (a lot of glitches && bugs) - there is huge problem with commandos responsiveness. I would say than the most of my deaths are due to very bad UX (during very precise actions different commando is randomly selected, commando will stuck in a route to enemy, etc.) and not because actual mistakes - environment is poorly designed (levels promote multi-floor planning, but due to showing/hiding wrong floors most of the time it is janky and frustrating) - lack of new content. About the Game
ALARM! You have been selected for a mission which will shape the fate of the entire world. Witness the very beginning of the legendary elite WWII force in Commandos: Origins. The long-awaited sequel to the Commandos series brings you right back to the foundation of the real-time tactics genre. And to the days where Jack O’Hara, the Green Beret, and his five companions met to form the infamous unit sent to complete missions which no others would dare to accept.
In the hushed shadows of history’s most pivotal moments, where heroes are born and legends are forged, a new chapter awaits. Whether it is a daring raid, a covert sabotage, or a courageous rescue mission – the Green Beret, the Sapper, the Sniper, the Driver, the Marine and the Spy will need to combine their skills to meet the most challenging tasks. Your mission can only be achieved through well-thought planning and the smart combination of stealth and destruction that come with the unique skillsets of this elite troop.
From the icy plains of the Arctic to the vast deserts of Africa, from the western coastlines of Europe to the Eastern front, it’s up to you to lead your commandos to success in high-risk missions. Guide them in their fight against the growing Nazi occupation which is menacing the free world.

Make the best use of your Commandos’ unique abilities, infiltrate enemy facilities and hit them where it hurts most before disappearing into the shadows.

Featuring 6 infamous characters, each with their own storied history, banding together to form an extraordinary fighting force – the Commandos: Take control over Jack O’Hara “the Green Beret”, Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock, Francis T. “the Sniper” Woolridge, Samuel “the Driver” Brooklyn, James “the Marine” Blackwood, and Rene “the Spy” Duchamp and lead them to success.

The detailed, varied and interactive environments offer multiple approaches to reach your goal. Sneak, climb, drive in various vehicles, or hide and creep your way to mission success!

A modern user experience with precise and intuitive controls enables you to control the commandos with expert precision. Coordinate complex actions simultaneously to overcome heavily fortified targets.

Play through more than 10 missions in historically authentic WWII environments, spanning from the barren Arctic to the African desert, with a range of core and voluntary objectives that will require your full tactical expertise.

Take on missions with a friend in the 2-player cooperative multiplayer mode, either online or via local split-screen.

Awesome origins of the commandos games. Just like the original commandos just with upgraded graphics and quality of life tools. Highly recommend if you were into the first commandos game a lot.
It had several bugs when it was released. In my eyes, it was rather a beta; no way it wast justified it cost ~£40. As of today, it still has bugs, one of the several I still see is: throwing a stone with the marine and the game gets stuck on that action, and you cannot move. You need to switch to the knife or something to get it "unlocked".
wonderfull game
I admit, kinda different than the earlier games. I grew up playing Commandos, and I liked the earlier mechanics and general atmosphere, but I still enjoyed playing Commandos Origins. Just give it some time and you'll find yourself trying to get all the achievements just like me. Absolutely recommend.
.
Played through three times to unlock every achievement. 365 Hrs. Fun game with the feel I remember in the original. Lots of "one more turn" moments breaking down each area into it's own puzzle of sorts. Good number of missions and decent variety in the number of paths you can take and ways to complete each mission. A little bit of an imbalance in the benefits of each character, but using them together for distractions and multiple kills is rewarded and sometimes the most efficient way to go about things. Path setting can be a little wonky particularly in multi story buildings and a few random crashes (seemed to often be when reloading after setting off an alarm) but nothing overly bothersome. Would most likely purchase a sequel if it was done in a similar fashion. Feel I got my moneys worth on this one.
Garbage excuse for a game keeps crashing when saving...
This is a great game! Level design, various ways of reaching the goal, complexity, AI - everything feels great, like in the original games! However, as of v1.3, the online coop is just terribly broken! De-sync of enemies' locations, crashes, host disconnects every 10 minutes, no cutscenes animations for guest player, achievements not unlocking for guest player, guest player cannot drive vehicles, the spy's abilities disappear for the guest player, etc - it's just terrible to play in coop mode right now! However, me and my friend we still completed it in coop for 100% achievements. But it was painful. But the single player is pretty good and stable, no problems. So I'm still recommending this game.
Maps & Visuals: I’ve always loved the detailed, large-scale maps of earlier Commandos games. Origins improves on them with full 3D and a 360° camera, making the environments even more beautiful. Command Mode: Not new to the genre, but adds flexibility for handling tricky situations, especially after being spotted—less need to panic and reload. Performance: Mostly solid after patches, running 4K/60FPS maxed out with DLSS on an RTX 3080. However, occasional stutters when panning the camera or entering buildings are distracting. Bugs: No game-breaking bugs, but plenty of small UI and animation issues. Given the small dev team, I don’t expect them all to be fixed. Characters: The six characters are imbalanced. Sapper and Marine are overpowered, while Driver has limited usefulness in a stealth-heavy game. This issue has been present in all Commandos titles. Missions: Too linear for my taste, with artificial roadblocks that force you down...
