An amazing game with amazing art. Very plot heavy, and the two branches twist well with each other (as far as I can see, I still have a few endings to get). Good atmosphere, and the gore content, while graphic, doesn't enter the gross territory. Twist and Ana are two vastly different characters and so well written that I genuinely got attached and cried during one of Twist's endings. Without adding too many spoilers, I also really enjoyed the dream sequences and their character! Sage, as a protagonist, is at the start very naive which worried me (classic horror vn's with those kinds of protags tend to be kinda bad) but you can both watch them grow based on which branch you choose, and take it even a step further with the player immersion (etc. answering things in a certain way on one branch can get one result, and a different one of the second branch). Overall, I genuinely think this game is amazing and honestly think it's worth more than it's sold for!

Story/Plot: Twisted: A Dark Fairytale is a visual novel where you take on the role of Sage (you can choose the gender). Sage flees from the only home she's known, the Village, into the woods after discovering a growing blackness on her body. However, the woods are far from safe as she comes across the Twisted, individuals who've succumbed to the same corruption that inhabits Sage. In your travels, you will come across a couple individuals who may strongly influence your decisions (positively or negatively) and affect your ultimate fate. If I had a complaint here it would be that I couldn't turn off some of the world-building critical part of my mind. As an example, it is mentioned that the Village is walled off, and no one leaves unless exiled. It also mentions monster attacks during the day which caused me to think 'so how do these people eat? If they get attacked as soon as they leave, that leaves farming out.' Visuals: As a visual novel, don't expect to see a large variety...

A unique, albeit short, dark fairytale visual novel. As a huge fan of monster love interests (yes, I'm weird), I loved Twist instantly. I had always wanted to see a story that went like this, so this VN was a very refreshing find. Needless to say, my review is biased with that in mind. :P First, I'll lay the few complaints I have with the game first. (a) At the beginning, you can choose the protagonist's pronouns, but whenever they (Sage) are referred to by others, it seems that the pronoun "they" is used regardless. So I'm not sure what the point was in having the option if it won't actually change anything. (b) The achievements are bugged. Even though I finished the game, I'm sitting at 85% because there are 3 achievements that won't show up (one for getting all of Ana's endings, one for getting all endings period, and one for an apparent extra 13th ending that doesn't exist in the game). It's not a huge deal, but if you care about achievements (or are even OCD like me and that 85% ...

Organic, dark, and captivating, Twisted has been one of my favorite ongoing experiences in the VN genre. As someone who normally hasn't taken the time to play this type of story, I keep finding myself looking to advance the plot and discover everything there is to know about the world and its (new) rules. The gorgeous character art, detailed backgrounds and and A+ writing, have given rise to hours of entertainment. To VN newbies like myself, and even just people who love to sit down for an amazing story, I cannot recommend Twisted enough!

It was short but a good story. I keep reviews pretty short. Hence the TLDR is I do not regret spending my time on this game. For the longer version with some minor complaints: I wish the game had been a little longer just to flesh out some of the endings. One minor criticism, that is just a personal preference, is I wish there had been the ending I wanted. And I will just leave it at that to avoid spoilers because there are 12 endings. My only other complaint is that clearly the game is bugged unless there is a secret 13th ending I have not found. I should have all the achievements at this point and I can't get the final 3 and it seems this is a problem for many people who have played the game. But if your like me and love getting the little 100% stuff on your trophy's beware this game may not let you have it.

This game has an excellent story line and beautiful art. I would recommend this game to my friends, as the characters were so unique and there plot is different then most others I read. Only thing I wish was that all the achievements worked for the game and some of the bugs were fixed with the cg library

This game was amazing, it was different and kept me interested throughout the entire story. The art, music, sound effects and writing were all very good. There are plenty of choices to choose from which result in multiple endings. I got attached to Sage and Twist throughout the story and ended up rooting for them even though some of the endings were not what i was hoping for or expecting. I definitely recommend this visual novel even though it was short and left me wanting more it does not take away from the fact that it was fantastic.
