A very neat premise for a game, but don't be fooled by the price -- this game may be full-featured, but it feels very early access. There's a lot of information that the game simply doesn't give you and your controls feel very gross and top-level.

About This Game
What's Left Behind is a post-apocalyptic tile-based city re-builder. Choose from a variety of maps based around real-world cities and start your new settlement from the ground up. Clear away old buildings, gather supplies and provide for your settlers, all while keeping a vigilant eye out for the remnants of the shambling horde.

I have to disagree with that review on the game. Yes It's EA but the game is very stable and quite good. For all the people who don't like this game It's not a bad game. Yes there are bad bugs but to me they are not gamebreaking bugs just little annoying bugs that need to be fixed ASAP. There is no map editor but the Dev is thinking about adding It In maybe In the near future. I honestly have to say that this game very polished and quite good. I do highly recommend this game to everyone. It may not be perfect but the game is very fun to play. My only issue is that the Dev doesn't respond as quickly like they should. They are many posts already that the Dev should respond to but hasn't yet and that to me is very bad and If this game is going to succeed the Dev needs to communicate better with everyone. The only other big issue is there's no Map Editor and to me that's terrible.
This is a very unique and quite enjoyable simulated city builder game. While there are a few bugs that are being resolved, the developer is quite responsive and most engaged in improving the game. I recommend giving it a chance, particularly if City Building Simulators are a preferred genre. I've really enjoyed getting the hang of how the settlements develop, particularly as Research unlocks new abilities and improvements as the game progresses. Overall, I believe this game has great potential and that it's one I look forward to enjoying. While there are only 5 cities to choose from currently, each map can be replayed with very different outcomes. Strategy hints to bear in mind come down to basic survival. In particular, it is best to settle in an area with the most water tiles, as this is the most vital resource to focus on. Also important: defense towers. Zombies are always lurking and they will destroy buildings or cause other mayhem, so the more towers a Settlement has, the mo...
At this point I wouldn't recommend this game, even though it is early access. 1. The game doesn't look finished at all. The most simple things aren't working. If you demolish any building you won't get all the mentioned resources added in your inventory. 2. If a building gets attacked by a zombie the notification is visible so shortly that you can't react at all, which probably cost a building. It seems to be useless to have any defensive stuff standing around. 3. If buildings get destroyed by a zombie the number of jobs and employed citizens are updated. This looks like you still have 'open' jobs, but actually you don't. 4. The design of the game is 'frightening'. I set the resolution on 1920x1080, but it still looks like 600x400 (or even worse) 5. No tutorial at all, which causes several questions without getting an answer. I've restarted the game several times, but after all I will try to get a refund. I might buy this game again, when I notice, that there have been updates and/or...
Not to be cruel, but if you like the idea of What's left behind, I recommend you buy "Rebuild" instead. What's left behind is a buggy game with no real controls, you cannot click a warning to go to the problem, you cannot see an overview of what you have constructed, there are no quick menu's to get to research, or whatever. You cannot even see the timer run down when you rebuild the monument. But worst of all, WORST of ALL is that it is bugged so that it does not register Tech level 2, so you cannot even win it! Argh! Another thing is that is has nu tutorial, it has no clear story and it is very hard to plan ahead because it is quite unclear what has influence on what. It is a very expensive mash of Caesar IV / Simcity with zombiehood. But even though it is quite bad or underdeveloped, it is very expensive. My advice is do not buy it, get "Rebuild" for Zombie rebuilding, or "Caesar III" or "Caesar IV" if you want a SimCity game in a new surrounding.
