About This Game

Tip Top is an arcade style climbing game with procedurally generated routes that never repeat themselves!

It features a gripping single player campaign that has you exploring all corners of the globe while making sure not to fall to your (perma)death.

The player uses the innovative control scheme to move the characters hands from one hold to the next while making sure to be as efficient as possible. You only have a limited amount of stamina to use in order to reach the peak. If you run out of stamina or miss a hold you'll fall!

But! The twist on the roguelike genre is that you never have to die. Careful players will try routes several times while clipping their rope to the wall before taking any risks. Skilled players will be those that find the right balance between risk and rationality and reach the peak in peace. Players that climb too carefully may never reach the top, as they’ll waste too much energy clipping in to the bolts.

Really feels like a climbing game! I've only made a few attempts at the campaign so far. It's tough, but I'm beginning to get the hang of it. What helps is that unlike other roguelikes, you can play levels further in the campaign in a separate "practice" mode. So right now I'm practicing the desert levels a bit before I give the campaign another shot.

Visual: Clear and readable, makes it easier to concentrate on the more important stuff of the game, which is gameplay. Gameplay: There's truly no other game that delivers what TipTop does. It's forgiving in the way you play it. You can use the hooks to save yourself for future checkpoints or try to finish a level hardcore. Game is fun and addicting, It's easy to understand but the challenge is there, and for each level (which seems to be perfectly planned) it gets harder. Challenge your friends, see who can be faster, maybe even better!

Ok so, this was my experience, I found the ad for this on reddit and thought it looked cool and I wanted to get it, soon got it, then got bored and pissed in the hour I played this game, it makes you use really shit controls imo, using arrow keys and all that, then if you fall without putting those anchors down, you lose everything, not restart the level, or just get a game over, I got pretty far and the auto generation made it physically impossible to get to the anchor, and I had to go ahead, had no good rocks and had to clean my hands for whatever fukin reason, and fell, Lost everything, 3 worlds of progress. Gone, just says fuck you you lose everything, Never again, Its good but don't expect it to be calming like I did, it is stressful and hurt my soul when I realize you lose everything, My first negative review on steam.

Fun climbing game where you have to balance speed and stamina to reach the top. Your stamina meter depletes as you climb but certain rocks have a better hold so the stamina meter drains slower while holding these rocks. These are crucial for maintaining your stamina. You can restore stamina by using your powder bag but every time you use the powder your total stamina meter gets smaller. Each hand has their own stamina meter. Traversing the mountains is fun and challenging. The controls work well here and the game is pretty polished. Don't forget to tie your rope to an anchor because you will die without the rope to save you. And death means starting the campaign from the beginning again. This permadeath feature brings added tension to each climb so I tend to take the climbs slow which isn't always the best option because of stamina. After recently watching Iwa Kakeru Sport Climbing Girls I came across this game and I'm glad I did. It's really fun and playing it reminds me of the sh...

Nice feeling, fun climbing game with original and well thought out game mechanics. Reaching the top is challenging, but it feels all the more rewarding once you do. Would definitely recommend to try it out

I would love to recommend this game, as the mechanics and premise are interesting. Climb a mountain! Except this time in QWOP form. Well, it's clear after playing it for a while that some mechanics seem designed to pointlessly annoy you, and the rogue nature is honestly baffling for a game this cheaply designed. Not cheap as in the developer is trying to scam anyone or it's filled with bugs or anything, I mean it feels like the stamina and jumping system feel intentionally ridiculously punishing so as to make players fail more often. The mountain/cloud and water/rain levels are where the cheapness really feels blatant. The clouds blocking your view are truly nonsensical. How on earth would it be fun or interesting to wait literally 5-10 seconds for them to pass? If you don't wait, which you may opt not to since your stamina goes down still I believe, you're left doing circles with your character, trying to find a ledge completely blind. It was made so much worse when I had to JUMP wh...

i like the game, the controls are easy to master. its a great little game for the money. you feel like your climbing and its intense and frustrating but also rewarding. However i feel like your stamina and grip strength as it is now is way too low. you should be able to take a minute and asses your route, take a breather. rest in a position. hold your self with your feet planted and regain your grip and stamina. people have climbed some seriously high cliff faces solo but in this game it feels like your stamina is just a counting down clock and i dont think its realistic or very fun. yeah you can chalk but that impacts you negatively aswell. as it stands you can barely climb 30 - 40 ft maybe without eventually loosing grip which seems ridiculous. I wont end on a negative because i really like this game, but i feel like if it was abit more chilled and zen like instead of a race against your stamina/grip strength clock it would be hours and hours of fun

Novel concept executed well, difficulty is pretty well balanced and the aesthetic is nice. Lots of scope for new features so I hope the dev is working on patches or a sequel

The game play advances and changes on the way but in the end it does not feel enough in terms of mechanics. But it is well worth the price and a nice experience.
