devs ruined the map it was great when it was all seamless but someone had the bright idea to make the map into levels. terrible design for a automation game. wanna go and see why your not getting enough mats? gotta load a new level. wanna go change something up to get different mats gotta load a level. stupid design . if you want a good automation game just go get satisfactory or factrio skip this. devs also stopped working on it and have no intention of coming back to the game so if you find a game breaking bug your out of luck.

About the Game
Welcome to the strangely beautiful, bioluminescent, and mysterious sub-surface alien world of Techtonica. You’ll begin with only the basics for digging, mining, and resource production.
Full Story Campaign
‘Techtonica’ is the only factory automation game to offer a complete, fully voice-acted campaign to play through. Something unknown awaits you beneath the surface of Calyx, Groundbreaker. Untangle and revive the efforts of an expedition gone wrong with the help of cubic companions who have motives, personalities, and secrets of their own.
Build Machines
Discovering everything in Techtonica demands unique equipment, power, and resources. Build specialized machines to optimize gathering and production as you arm yourself with the tools needed to dig higher to the surface.
Explore & Discover
Exploration pays off in Techtonica. Tunnel your way to massive ore deposits, research-rich facilities, and hidden caves to find new technologies, scan aging artifacts, and learn more about the mysteries of this world.
Terraform Entire Caves
Obliterate stone walls with a black hole gun. Drain deserts of sand with towering pumps to uncover what lies beneath. Sculpt the world to fit your subterranean vision.
Create Beautiful, Sprawling Factories
Take your mining operation to new depths by constructing sprawling, efficient factories. Automate production lines with Conveyor Belts and Inserters and a wide cast of machines. Deck out your factory with Eco-Brutalist Base Building parts.

Abandonware.
When Techtonica first launched I couldn't wait to see what it would turn in to. It seemed solid. Underground factory builder with terrain deformation, mildly complex recipes, interesting enough story. All the good stuff. It took a weird turn somewhere and when I recently played it again, it didn't feel like it was done. Still felt half baked. And they completely changed certain parts of the game that most players disagreed with? Idk. Had major potential at one point.
I shoulda refunded this earlier.
I really dont get why all the bad reviews, yeah sure the game might have been abandoned after the 1.0 release but that doesnt have to be a bad thing, at least the game was actually finished for a 1.0 release and it has all it says it has. I would say this game is a Satisfactory meets Deep Rock Galactic that are two games I love. I have my hours in the game so I got my money worth in playtime and thats all I can expect. I dont think I will replay the game in the near future unless a friend gets it and wants to coop but I still got my money worth and the game is a solid good game.
Well.. this game is special. The first 12 levels are awesome. The last three levels feel like a day-job with an crappy old pc due to engine limitations and extrem stuttering. I like the story they embedded within the game. It feels interesting enough to keep you on your toes. Sadly they rushed the 1.0 release and it shines through. The game nearly overstayed it's welcome at the end. After 92h I finally got 100% of the achievements. Would rate it a solid 7.5/10
I find it boring. - The game promises you "mystery" and "fully voice-acted campaign", but what you get at the beginning is just a few voice lines and a very vague intro sequence. Nothing exciting at all. To uncover the story further you have to MINE AND GRIND (what did I expect though?) - Toxic oversaturated colors everywhere, my eyes can't take it. - Nothing interesting/new factory gameplay wise. You begin with mining copper and iron ore, smelting it, building conveyor belts and feeding things into assemblers. Nope, thank you, I've been there.
Overall very good facbric-game, can recommend if you fan of Factorio, Satifsactory and similar games.
It's pretty cool story-based factory game in concept, but i didn't expect it to be as overwhelming as it has gotten in so little time. The visuals are really good, artists and art direction did an amazing job, although quite the opposite can be said about the gameplay... i wouldn't say it's bad, but it's certainly not the most well designed, with it's many questionable design choices and flaws. It has a quite steep learning curve, confusing UI and controls even after hours playing the game, confusing recipes and automation mechanics which cause an incredibly slow progression at times, which in my opinion tears all the fun out of it. On top of everything it's clear that fairly big parts of the game have been rushed to meet deadlines, i wouldn't really recommend it as a factory/automation game, especially for someone who's new to the genre.
Really wish that I could have liked this more. It was so promising but started going downhill after the lasertag update. The last 3 levels are the same scenario... sand falls down, get it into the factory production fast to use it up and lower the level of the sand in the room, rinse, repeat. Near the end of the game I had to install a mod to add a trashcan because it just became so tedious and laggy from the amount of items on my screen
